Starman2006 2,355 Posted November 9, 2016 Means nothing as Swindon will have the weakest tail end in the Prem with no real 2nd Heat Leader tbh. Doyle could have 5 starts, but if he has no back up you dont win meetings. Gavan doesn't realise that...
NOBODY 538 Posted November 9, 2016 Yep Kyles could , maybe Brady maybe Bates. but have a look at most teams top 5, 1 and at best possibly 2 may improve their starting average. Those riders who solely rode elite league last season will have to improve hugely to achieve the 1.4 multiple conversion and the top boys converting their premier league averages will also not maintain. The only riders are those who are awful in the premier (Newman and Bates) who may improve but not if they arent in reserve. Zagar, Fricke, Nicholls, KK, Harris, Pedersen, Iversen, Doyle, AJ, Nilsson, Morris, Thorsell. all rode elite league only and all will see their averages drop. Howarth, Tungate, Josh G, Lawson, Worrall, Kennett, Cook, King, all coming in on last seasons premier average and again will struggle to maintain them. If you can find 5 riders who will up their average (forget 3 pointers) then you will have done very well correct , Chris Holder fell out with Matt Ford as has been well documented on this forum by those Poole fans in the know. He doesnt care much for the Poole track either. Points conversion is a nice excuse for him to leave. Hans Andersen as Poole number 1 , racing Doyle 3 times , no chance Why don't you just type "blah blah blah"? Its much quicker and the same as what you post.

I do agree that the average is an excuse on why Chris is leaving, not sure it's got anything to do with the track though.
kingbee 510 Posted November 9, 2016 Matt Ford has NEVER had his own way at any AGM. We've had/have 8-9 other promoters, what do they do, sit in the corner like naughty boys...I think not.. Again you are totally guessing..so are you as you are not there
Starman2006 2,355 Posted November 9, 2016 so are you as you are not there No im not guessing mate. Now have you got a Coventry thread to go to ?
foreverblue 6,096 Posted November 9, 2016 correct if Doyle rides for Swindon and Holder , Zagar and Iversen dont ride over here then Doyle should be good for 14 or 15 points every meeting and that is a massive amount. every team , and 90% of riders will drop their average thats a fact. Maybe he can go to another team to reduce his average!! As Matt Ford said in the paper because of the new rules, if Holder were to score a 12-point maximum every meeting, effectively we would be giving away half a point in our team-building structure. Sherborne Green 320 Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) All I can say it is a good job Gavan does not select the Poole team. Perhaps Chris Louis would like his advice as to The Ipswich line up.☺️ Edited November 9, 2016 by Sherborne Green

How many one season wonders have Poole signed and dropped? I'd rather support a club that stays loyal to popular riders, even if we don't win the league every year!
Pirate Baz 218 Posted November 9, 2016 Maybe he can go to another team to reduce his average!! As Matt Ford said in the paper because of the new rules, if Holder were to score a 12-point maximum every meeting, effectively we would be giving away half a point in our team-building structure. But after one month or however many meetings it would be down to around 10 (in this diluted league) and there's possibly 2.5 points to strengthen the bottom end. Actually all the team averages are going to drop somewhat. Two teams at 50 points = 100. 90 points in a meeting ....... you do the maths. Actually it's an even bigger differential as CMA's are based on 4 rides so only 4/5 of the points of the riders in heat 15 (or anyone who has 5 rides) go into the averages, thus the differential is between the 100 in the team building and 84 in the greensheets. 16 points a meeting off the averages!

The fans get behind whoever is in the team, Holder is a popular rider but Matt Ford has decided to go strength in depth, time will tell if he is right but he hasn't been wrong too often in recent times.
