Plymouth 2017 N/l?

Recommended Posts

Dads army are a good group of fans and they love their speedway but regardless of that forum rules still apply as with any group you can get one or two bad apples and just because you have done some work at the track or contributed financially forum rules still apply to you. You cannot make exceptions or you will have anarchy on the forum that said a free for all would be fun i would especially enjoy it!!

I'll make this my last post on this subject as my view is clear and everyone can get back to discussing the team.

The problem I find with official club forums or facebook pages is that they are like a form of Soviet media - praising those in charge or a specific viewpoint is allowed, criticism is not (however justified that criticism might be). Do it too often and you disappear.

I have had experience of that, getting booted off a facebook page for simply giving an opposing, critical view.

Sadly, I find that any decision as to who is being excluded is often subjective when it should be objective.

Well said Halifaxtiger ,I have found the same with this site! I feel so strongly about this I have asked to be removed from the Plymouth Devils forum web site.

Team selection could be very interesting, I think the 4 things to consider @ this level are: Talent, Commitment, Youth & living relatively local. Therefore you can add the very talented Zac Wajknecht to the mix & I ask does anyone know where will Nathan Stoneman be living next year? Unfortunately there's not much local Grasstrack nowadays for potential Devils. With a young team you will need a good advisor (Coach) as so many riders @ this level don't even ride the bike properly = avoidable injury's & lack of progression. Best of luck to the devils in 2017.

Not true. It may have been five or six years ago but not now.

Buy riding the bike properly I mean in the manner of: Leigh Adams, Peter Karlson & Tai Woffenden etc.. Not in the manner of say Jason Garretty who you can't fault for effort. I clearly remember Tai's first visit to the SBA. Why did he go so well? he rode the bike properly! It wasn't by having things like flash transport, that was an old Escort van...

Again I only deal in facts as not doing so can cause pain and upset when people jump to conclusions and adding what they believe to be two and two but not reaching the correct answer, and it is pointless saying "well I was close", close is not good enough when dealing with peoples feelings. As to the Forum it never has been and never will be listed as the OFFICIAL anything. It was started because dedicated supporters and fans wanted a common place to chat pass comment and discuss subjects to do with Plymouth Devils. The Devils have been running since what 2005 and 2016 with new owners is the very first time anyone in authority has posted a word let alone a sentence on the forum. I have no dealings with the management or promotion and never have at any time in the past. It is purely a Forum FOR FANS RUN BY FANS. Any Forum even this BSF Forum has Rules and regulations and they are there for everyone to read and abide by. Do that and whats the problem It is not run to produce a platform for the few, it is there for everyone who wishes to join in and be polite towards others in doing so, not for the odd few who wish to make a statement of look at me and what I can do.

Keep running the forum as you have done for the last 10yrs which has been honestly and fairly even to the extent of banning someone who you used to watch the devils race who stood with you. I have been warned in the past when i,ve pushed the rules to the limit but if you feel you cant abide the forum rules that the hundreds of other members do then it would be the right thing to know longer be a member because for some reason you would expect to be treated differently to the rest of the membership.

It's starting to sound like a witch hunt here, keyham has proved he has done everything by the book,it's starting to sound a bit like bullying now,no one makes you look at our devils forum, but you do because you no keyham is so on the ball that everything what does happen for the good of our club he posts right away, lay off him let sleeping dogs lie and get your information from somewhere else if all he does is offend you like lewy said the rules are there for everyone if you can't abide by them look elsewhere.

this topic should be about the potential upcoming team for the devils but i feel this is not doing the team and its new prospects any good.

keyham runs a tight ship always has done and always will do he is fair to an extreme but doesnt put up with rubbish ( I have given him his fair share but thats time gone past )

people can still read the forum and if all you want is to be able to read what is going on then do that.. its what i do i keep bang up to date on the team i once had the pleasure of being involved with but not the person running the team at the time..

this is a very exciting time for the devils new ownership with two guys who will really run the team in the very best way and have an extreme passion for the sport that is what you need the devils fans now have a team run by the best people and a forum to shout about for not having crap on and one that the promotion post on which is really very good. this site can be mental at times and i for one wouldnt want to run a forum thats pretty much let loose..

long live the devils and i wish the team and the new promotion all the best in the 2017 season i will for one travel down a few times to watch them run.

The scenario is very very simple.

Use it or lose it.

Troubled times over the last couple of seasons need to be buried in the annuls of history.

The only way for Plymouth to succeed is for folk to turn up and pay up. Cut out a lot of the freeloaders.

Have a team that will be solid at home and competitive away.

''Build it and they will come'' comes to mind.

So its over to us, the foot soldiers, to encourage a friend or two to give speedway try.

USE IT OR LOSE IT.

None of us, whoever we support, want the Devils to close permanently.

I remember Tai upside down fifteen feet up in the air, in his early days ... You won't see the likes of those three in the NL, but relative beginners and learners, although there are some really good riders there. I based my comments on seeing NL racing over the last two years, and also being involved in MDL and amateur racing: where there are some excellent riders also. The point being that there are few Leigh Adams etc. around; most riders use the balance style.

Perks tweeted that he'll release who he's signed for on Friday & Govier replied saying that he knows. Are both lined up for Plymouth?

All of Team GB's riders in the 2016 World Cup started at 3rd tier level.

NL racing is as good as the EL & PL in my experience. The riders might be better and mpre experienced but they make less mistakes.
