Sings4Speedway 3,247 Posted December 21, 2016 Seems slightly strange that all the years Tom rode the Buxton track his best performances came as an away rider? Either way he should be capable of maintaining his average but im not sure if he will add more than 0.5 to it.
Jayne 312 Posted December 21, 2016 Seems slightly strange that all the years Tom rode the Buxton track his best performances came as an away rider? Either way he should be capable of maintaining his average but im not sure if he will add more than 0.5 to it. Who knows, maybe a change of scenery did him good and also he had a shoulder operation in the close season which he desperately needed. Whatever the reason we are happy to have him back.
Little Thumper 528 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Or perhaps, something even more exciting might happen? Friend Pipe is no longer at the helm. The signals were clear to see. It is rumoured that the Bod in the Box will be taking over. Edited December 23, 2016 by Little Thumper
Islander15 1,065 Posted December 24, 2016 Who Jayne? Jayne's talking about Tom Woolley.
Little Thumper 528 Posted December 24, 2016 (edited) Who Jayne? Hell, this sounds like something from an old black and white Tarzan movie! The Bod in the Box is rumoured to be the secret power behind the scenes at Buxton, hiding behind his various identities. Some say that he is Mr Big................but that seems unlikely because i have never seen him with a cat. Guest Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) I see Pipe has had a change of mind and is back as team manager He certainly is back! http://www.buxtonhitmen.co/news.php?extend.526 After a short period of reflection Jason Pipe has had a change of heart and will once again resume his team manager duties at Buxton Speedway. ‘Jason regretted his decision to stand down almost immediately and a break over the Christmas period has reinforced his wish to continue said Jayne Moss. There was no falling out between us but Jason had let things get on top of him and he felt he had to step down. There may be an occasion or two next year when Jason will not be available due to work commitments and if that is the case then Joshua Moss will step in to cover for him.’ Team building has continued in Jason’s absence and the club will be announcing the next team member on Wednesday. Halifaxtiger 5,318 Posted January 2, 2017 I see Pipe has had a change of mind and is back as team manager When he left, I doubt if there were many who didn't have a degree of sympathy with what he said. Now, it just looks like a toys out the pram rant.

Little Thumper 528 Posted January 2, 2017 I see Pipe has had a change of mind and is back as team manager Well that's bloody great. Perhaps he'll change his mind again next week or possibly the week after. His retirement was even shorter than Ryan Blacklock's!
John Leslie 3,213 Posted January 2, 2017 There's nothing like a fake retirement and comeback to help the old self-publicity. At least we can look forward to the return of our favourite single-paragraph ego-massaging press releases which remind us how the manager is far more important than any of the riders.
