Hunters 210 Posted May 8, 2017 Who do you suggest at this stage, there is no one out there capable of scoring a decent amount of points Very surprised if Jake Knight doesn't return to Eastbourne next few days. Somebody has to make way so snap up Connor Coles. May not be too much clash as he is struggling at Newcastle.
Islander15 1,065 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) Who do you suggest at this stage, there is no one out there capable of scoring a decent amount of points Yes true and you're not the only club in this situation. Won't Perks ride one meeting so then you can use guests? Or just sign someone on a lower average who'll at least score something (like IOW did with Widman for Jacobs/Compton last year). Alternatively will Blacklock come back if/when he's fit? Will Chessell come back to the sport? Is Cottham fit? Edited May 8, 2017 by Islander15
teaboy279 1,038 Posted May 8, 2017 What's Stefan Nielsens average. Are there no other riders in Carrs position who are struggling at PL that could do with confidence boosting national league points. What about recently lost to the sport riders like say a Moggeridge. I suppose it's a case of see what the first big average shake up does and who is left without a club. THE DEAN MACHINE 4,771 Posted May 8, 2017 Why not try Joe Jacobs dont know average is .Sad thing is Buxton have not got enough money to temt riders with. What we would give for another 2010 type season but the point is it shouldn't be about money at this level , they are their learning their trade ,trying to be speedway riders , they are not supposed to be making money at it, they should be getting laps in ,learning how to race ,learning how to master their craft ,learing how to be in a team ,learning how to ride every sort of track from smooth to rough ,big to small, grippy to slick but we have made our bed and now we have to lie in it and its the tracks like buxton who suffer

Jayne 312 Posted May 9, 2017 Maybe a phone call to Adam Roynon Think Adam is a bit beyond our means and his average is too high anyway

Fromafar 10,397 Posted May 14, 2017 I find it interesting the Perks says in SS that he hopes to ride 1 meeting for Buxton say as they can get a facility for him.Thats not in the best interests surely.

Most (if not all) riders in the NL are either learning their trade or riding simply because they enjoy it. The latter category can be scorned by some but without them the NL wouldn't exist or would be shy of several teams. It probably also wouldn't be competitive enough to attract the gates that clubs need to survive. Buxton are suffering because Ellis Perks isn't riding for them (whatever the reason for that might be). That's more an unfortunate exception than the way the league and other teams are run.
