I am sure Bomber is happy with his British final victories, Britain GP win and Elite League titles.

I am sure Bomber is still hungry for more.

Plant?

Lol!

Make an effort to locate another brain cell and you've half a chance of being regarded as a plant!

I fail to see the logic of this meeting, am are apalled this was allowed to take place. The organisers don't seem to grasp the concept of the sport in that the sole purpose of putting on a meeting is to entertain the paying public. Leicester's race night will always represent a problem, trying to facilitate the crowded calender and the shortage of riders, but to put on a fiasco like last night was so embarrassingly unfair to everyone. Unfair to the Fans, unfair to the sport, unfair to Leicester, unfair to KL, infact unfair to all the teams and riders in the Premiership League.

When this situation rises its head, there should be a planB to implement that would safe guard all concerned. Award the points to Leicester by all means and put on an alternative meeting instead. An individual meeting, or a handicap event or a 4 team effort. It wouldn't be hard to substitute this one sided affair and make it more interesting. At least the fans would go home happy and the Sport wouldn't have egg on its face like now.

I was hoping this year would be the start of a new beginning for British Speedway, but it has turned out the worse for some time. Shortage of riders is highlighted as the main problem our sport faces and the BSPA has done nothing to remedy this. For any chance of surviving this sport needs a Major Overall. Reducing teams to 5 men would be a start. If teams are to use guests and RR then nominated days have to be used to avoid the constant clashes.

It seems common sense rules the world.......... with the exception of British Speedway.....

For any sport to survive, there are two key things it has to have, otherwise the good old public will not want to know. These are integrity and credibility. Sadly, these qualities left British speedway some time ago and the outcome is, I am afraid, inevitable.

All the Lions riders were fined £300 each. There are two riders per team in each race - why were all seven lions fined?

Probably because the Leicester riders are that used to referees agreeing to every little wim and allowing bloody sun breaks it came as a surprise when one told them to get on with it. Well done Jim McGregor ~ hope he comes back next time the sun is shining.

Fined for refusing to ride because of the sun. This was supported by the Leicester management. It would have been for one race only. When the riders came out, Todd Kurtz fdailed to come out and so Leicester used Josh Bates.

One race? Don't make me laugh. I stood there bored stiff for an hour the other week when there was a sun break.

So you think it's OK for riders to go into a corner with the sun shining in their eyes? 😯

Think Torun paid Peterborough around 10k

If that's correct then a £20k fine for Ged Rathbone should be about right. But don't worry the club will not close down because there will be a Strong Reprimand and Demand for Future Behaviour instead.

I really didn't notice the difference when they did ride so it can't have been that bad.

A fine for the Panthers could force the club out of business.

Not many businesses can absorb a £20k loss.

How did they manage it years ago? There were never any sun breaks then so what's different now? I usually have to drive back from Peterborough's Sunday meetings with the sun really low down below my visor. It's not ideal conditions but I manage to drive okay without hitting anything and don't pull up for an hour waiting for dusk.

Incidentally I'm pretty sure the riders representing Kings Lynn were ready to race in that heat and as Halifax Tiger has said there was no difference in the style of riding once they did get going without the whingeing Aussie so it can't have been that bad. It had already taken one and a quarter hours to run 7 heats. I bet all those people Neil Matchin was escorting round can't wait to come back again.

We have this a Lynn all the time now and apparently there were trees and taller buildings stopping the sun years ago ...

Yes and that's why I wouldn't bother going again after our last experience when the match didn't start for 40 minutes, followed by other delays. There's too much messing around these days.

Short of Buster building a tall structure to stop the sun it's just par for the course, we're used to it lol

Workington did it, disastrously, the other week. 45 minutes for three heats. Heat 10 at 90 minutes so they decided to take an interval, pushing the meeting over 2 hours. One race then they had a sun break.

Thing is some delays can't be helped (and that does possibly include sun breaks). But if that is the case, everything possible must be done to make sure there are no others.

People go to speedway to watch speedway, not to stand around getting cold, bored and frustrated.
