Anyone in manchester say what weather is doing thinking of coming from  cumbria tonight?

I think you might want the BV v King's Lynn thread but the weather is ok at the moment but rain forecast from 6, 8 or 9 o'clock depending on which forecast you look at. The track usually holds up so long as it's not too heavy and doesn't affect visibility too much so maybe worth taking a chance.

Steve Worrall - easily as good around Wimborne Road as Darcy Ward in his pomp, because he once scored 16 there. I'll make note he is a 10.00+ now when riding at Poole...

Gavan up to his usual tricks - everything is black and white and he is 100% certain based on his use of statistics. Well Gavan, as Ben Disraeli once said, there are three types of lies, "lies, damn lies and statistics". You are a true cherry-picker when it comes to your stats. And blinkered to say the least. And a few other things beside that! Why not take a more even-handed approach when having a discussion in a public forum? Maybe then you'll get the conversation you supposedly want? Instead of deliberately provocative statements.

As for Steve and his predictions - you don't have to be a mind reader to understand what he means most the time (long-term optimist, short-term pessimist!). But several of you will do all sort of mental gymnastics to have a pop at him. It's the same people every single time. Wonder why? Perhaps its a grudge between posters, rather than an issue with the content at hand?

Anyways, Poole are short price favs to win the league and it's generally accepted that they have the strongest team. No-one in their right mind thinks Poole will win every match. It will likely take a few matches for the newest imports to get to grips with the UK setups. It will be a shock to see the Pirates drop points at home this year, and they should have moderate success on their travels. Ipswich 1998 they are not!!!!

Oh come on mate, to be fair Gavan would be suited to a set of visors, blinkers would be a bit to much, he'l pull like a train..:D Imo the  Ippo team of 1998 was very good, but financially it was there undoing. its come with a cost. crowd wise, they are not Poole. Mental Gymnastics, straight 10's...:D

To be fair, not to many poole fans take what Steve says seriously, but he does make some valid points. Its those that take the bait !  Steves got backache and a dead arm from reeling them in..:D

Lol!

Steve Worrall is a third heat leader. You are making out he would have scored double figures on Wednesday. 6-7 points, possibly 8 but that should easily be covered.

Cook and Fricke are better than Worrall, so thats 2 of the 4 heats likely to bring in more points than he would have scored. Starke, if used in the correct heat, would cover. What Bewley scores might take back the gains made from the Cook and Fricke rides.

Belle Vue are not worse off with Worrall out. Now if they use a guest in say, Charles Wright, that might alter things.

As for going on holiday, yes I am off to Bassano del Grappa on the 26th for a week. Looking forward to it already.:approve:

Do us all a favour and don't comeback  leave it to the proper Poole  supporters as Gavan pointed out  Worrall scored 16 you must be deluded to think you  would not miss that.?? Only a third heat leader he is a very important rider for this Vue side and he is ENGLISH so let's support him not knock him. You need to do your research before making comments you often did that last year making stupid Comments about Jacob Thorssell's  away form the problem is you are just in your  little blue bubble you do not understand the bigger picture.

Not bait he often believes it  which is worrying some of his comments do Poole Speedway no good whatsoever.

The emphasis on "ENGLISH" in your previous comment paints a certain picture of the poster.

And then there is the follow up about "little bubble" and "do not understand the bigger picture".

Amusing contradiction there in the current political climate.

Are you a mind reader? Because you are claiming to know what Steve thinks. How very prescient of you.

The loss of Worrall is big but I think you are over doing it a bit Gavan!! Not many riders get the same score each time they get to the same away track. Harder opposition riders this time plus maybe he preferred riding with the holes! ;):o

I would predict between 8-12 for him, so if a guest or r/r can get at least 8 then job done.

Plus I think Richie told him how to ride the track! :D

I do know that riders dont always get the same

Would you rather have a GB international who scored 16 last time or have his rides taken by 3 lesser riders and one who although better hates the track?? Come on its not rocket science is it.

All Shovlar does is stir the pot looking for reactions

Good choice 12 from 5 last time out and certainly stronger then going r/r for Worrall.

What on earth are you wittering on about lol

Shovlar is a wind up merchant and a troll, if thats how he gets his kicks then so be it.  Wonder why everyone has a pop at him lol are we all wrong?

And hell yes i will use statistics surely thats what we can base predictions on is it not??

Would you pick a rider that got 16 last time or a rider who got 5?? Im not saying that Steve would have got 16 but he certainly has the form in the book to go very well at Poole.

Maybe when predicting a meeting we should ignore a riders past performances at tracks then?

As ive just said Lawson is a good replacement based on his last visit .....................oh damn maybe i shouldnt have done that and used his past Poole record as a guide to wether he may score 10 or 4.
