Belle Vue 2019

Because of restrictions imposed on Clean Cut, the message about the delayed stream was only allowed to be publicised (on Belle Vue twitter account) shortly before the streaming began.

As word gradually got round, the streaming audience climbed to over 1300. It may well have climbed further after the actual meeting finished.

I can understand the (financial) reluctance of publicising the stream, but the technology exists to block the stream from certain areas.

Kudos to Pete Ballinger in actually getting the stream going despite having short notice that permission had been granted for the delayed stream. :t:

NFL do block the stream locally until the game is sold out, so the technology is there.

Honest question - are Ice Hockey meetings mainly at weekends so more likely to get travelling fans?  Also where geographically are the teams?

Yes they are at weekends, but there are some big distances, some teams in the league from Dundee, Belfast, Cardiff, Guildford etc.

When it’s Manchester v Sheffield or Sheffield v Nottingham etc there are lots of travelling fans who would rather  be there then watching on a stream and usually sell out.

Go Speed I think run by Terry Russell own all the rights.

And that is the issue alongside the BT contract.

It could actually prove a pretty simple, straight forward fix for cash flow in the sport if certain people would lose the self investment and look at the greater good.

BC has it in his head that the sport will implode without bt so is just stockpiling clubs to stop the bubble bursting and TR appears to selfish to relinquish his rights.

There is no hope is there.

That was March 2018 so possibly around that time.

So all in one pot. It’s the same principle I guess, regardless of who owns the rights.

It’s pretty clear that the tv package and rights for filming are worth more than the potential uplift live streaming would bring.

It must be, otherwise surely it would be done.

I believe Terry Russell hasn`t had the rights for a couple of years now- it`s the BSPA who have them back.

Well, that puts the kibosh on the idea then. Since our glorious leader's live streaming intro statement didn't go quite as planned, the whole idea has been off limits.

2. 3 or four - even a Boris style clear out, would not put one extra bum on a seat. If you can't sell the thrilling racing invariably on offer at the NSS, you never will, except perhaps on another day when many more people want to watch speedway.

I'm beginning to think that the best way forward for us is to get riders who are strong at the NSS.  We don't do very well away and there are probably few riders available who will allow us to do so.  This being the case, we have little chance of a two-leg win in the play-offs.

If. however, we can get a big score at home then possibly we can defend it during the away leg.  How about Bellago in plus a reserve who can score big at home??  I know this means that we have to replace one of the top five, but maybe it's time to do so.

if lemmo does swing the axe big style with 3 going ?? it won't be fricke/bjerre/bewley/lidsay ?? so not hard to guess who might go ?? if that 3 went ?? it would be 15.52 average wise ? NKI & HOLDER  are around 7+ ? if we could get one them ?? then just have juggle what reserves are around ?? not sure on holders visa problems ? but he rode at SON at NSS in may !! iversen won't be involved in polish play/offs with Torun ( bottom) we may go for bellago who is great around NSS one thing for sure we need competitive changes to boost us :t:

Holder didn't need a visa to ride in SoN as he wasn't being employed in this country.

I think the idea is to make the team stronger in an effort to win the league, could be wrong though.

Great to see Jaimon got 14 paid 15 at Krakow tonight.

ust be his best result in Poland

well done Jaimon

Jaimon's team were against the third tier whipping boys who haven't won all season. Still, a great performance.

He's riding again today ! This time at home and should be a closer match.

Worth noting that Luke Becker (USA and Wolves) also scored a max in the rout at Krakow.

EDIT:  For those still interested....................Lidsey scored his second maximum in two meetings when his team won 47-42 at home.
