SJA 40 Posted September 21, 2023 So not consulted a building professional, not consulted the council about h&s. I thought yesterdays performance was poor, today's is even worse. Mr Hunter appears to be a) pulling figures out of thin air, b) cannot even be bothered to read the developers information. Why is everybody so under prepared? As a (retired) Barrister I cannot believe how under prepared the SCS people are under cross examination.

In this setting, wishful thinking doesn't cut the mustard. Edited September 21, 2023 by Piotr Pyszny

Trying to hold BE to account over unanswered questions and starting to unpick the self inflicted damage from yesterday.

Piotr Pyszny 206 Posted September 21, 2023 (edited) Predictably, the defence is relying on the 'lack of appropriate qualifications, experience or expertise' argument re the costings for reinstating speedway and stock car racing at Brandon. Tricky for the pro-motorsport side, when the 'opposition' has refused access to the stadium for surveys etc. Edited September 21, 2023 by Piotr Pyszny

SJA 40 Posted September 21, 2023 The defence is also making both sports look amateurish because no one is able to provide spectator figures. This has come up on all three days so far. This is something that Phil Morris needs to get the Premiership Clubs to publish.

But like the chap said not every sport produces attendance figures, there's no legal requirement to do so

Football is now the only sport that consistently publishes official attendance figures (given the disparity between tickets sold and attendees, many of those are works of fiction). Piotr Pyszny 206 Posted September 21, 2023 (edited) 18 minutes ago, SJA said: Along with Premiership Rugby, Rugby League etc. A number of Super League rugby league clubs - Hull Kingston Rovers, for example - have this season ceased publishing official attendance figures. Three top-flight rugby union clubs no longer publish attendance figures (real or imagined) because they went out of business. Product not attractive enough to lure sufficient paying customers to sustain the business. Elite League ice hockey clubs usually publish attendance figures (although you have to seek them out). That's about it. Given the gravity of this inquiry, why attendance figures for speedway and stock car racing couldn't be divulged (the business owners must be aware what they are), I simply don't know. In the case of the former (average, shall we hazard, circa 1,200), embarrassment, most likely. Edited September 21, 2023 by Piotr Pyszny
