Sheffield v Belle Vue 25th August

Recommended Posts

8 Hours to go and it's pouring. Maybe the sun will come out later. Based on last week's experience, there should have been an announcement by now.

It’ll be ok - the BBC weather forecast says no rain today at all… hence I’m at work in shorts and t-shirt with no coat

Sure last weeks earlier call off was due to riders etc travelling from Ipswich and also to prevent the TV crew from setting up, this week as its Belle Vue they can leave it till 4pm.

There is also the fact that they are now getting to the stage of the season where they are going to have to ride in pretty much any conditions, given the fact they have so far crammed 8 home meetings into the first 22 weeks of the season and are now faced with 6 definite home fixtures and possibly 8 with the Play off semi and final in the last 9 weeks of the season

Met Office show rain till 3pm then dry thereafter. Fingers crossed.

Not shown on the website as off! Nor apparently on facebook! Where do you get your information Charlie?

Where’s that from? Nothing on the website etc

Not necessarily surprised, but just can’t see the confirmation anywhere

2nd half is definitely off, riders been told, so if you are going make sure you check about main meeting before you set out if no updates on social media etc

Meeting off

If that the case and no confirmation anywhere, that would be poor. Rain due to stop soon and then they would have 4 hours in 20 degree temperatures for it to dry and work on track.

could it just be the Premier Junior League that's been called off and not the entire meeting?

Hope not. Going to be dry and warm from now for rest of day and night. Plenty of time to sort track out. Even with a delay.

Poole got there track raceable  last week in 1 hour. Sheffield got 4/5 hours.

According to forecast on my iphone rain stopping now, which it has here (5 miles from track) and then sun coming out, though cloudy, and temperatures up to 22 C. But if there are dogs running this afternoon they might only have an hour or so to work on the track, after they've inflated the air fence. Any body know any different - Charlieboy?
