Buster not starting a clean slate with Holder basically leaves us in a big money gamble situation that we have to take due to nobody else being available (Not that we know of anyway)

Daniel Smith 5,665 Posted February 10, 2023 2 hours ago, cowboy cookie returns? said: As an outsider looking in the questions around the ownership of Peterborough seem Pretty simple to answer. The club has a year left at the showground. Although it appears that another site has been found the costs with obtaining the land & building the stadium seem to be an issue at the moment. Buster is trying to sell a club that currently could have no future in 9 months time. Any offer made is likely to be well below what Buster wants for it. Tomlin wants to buy the club but because of the question mark around what happens after October isn't willing to meet Busters valuation. Buster won't sell, expects to lose money at Peterborough but can use that to offset tax elsewhere. This probably gives buster better value right now than selling for what Tomlin wants to pay for it. Currently Peterborough speedway isn't worth a great deal as the future beyond this season is far from certain. Depends. The fans have a huge decision to make. Currently, the value is low due to no home from 2024. If planning is granted then "Peterborough Panthers" has future value hence why Buster will refuse peanuts. On the flip side, Tomlin could set up a totally new club, say, 'Panthers of Peterborough City' & there'd be absolutely nothing Buster could do as 'Peterborough Panthers' would be defunct & it's only the 'in name' rights he holds. It's all about whether the fans would be 100% accepting of being the 'blue, pink & green machine' over the 'red & black attack' if you kbow what I mean. The rumoured site is 27 acres i think i read on here. The only way i think it might work is if MT incorporates the speedway and his large auction venue on the same site. It will still cost a fair wedge, but the above would need to be there for the auction site, so it wouldn't be as costly as just using a field just for speedway. Roger Jacobs 554 Posted February 10, 2023 19 hours ago, Steve Irving said: Not really impossible to those that don’t just attend home meetings, but follow their team on the road and use their own eyes. It’s very easy to see what clubs are well supported and which ones aren’t. Indeed, it’s *easier* to see who appears to have the most fans - although ask a number of people and you’ll get a number of varying estimates. However, the post said Carl Johnson reckons Peterborough sell the most season tickets - that’s impossible to verify, unless the clubs actually release details.
