There will be costs involved in leaving the Showground such as removal of plant, equipment, vehicles, flood lights and buildings so I imagine it'll help pay for some of that.

I presume to the promoter.

I really don't understand why some people seem to have a problem with that. Do they want promoters to only stage meetings that loose money? No wonder nobody wants to be a promoter. I'm pretty sure that Buster has faced huge amounts of additional costs this year at his two tracks, and if this helps defray those losses I'm content with that.

PS And I'm usually to be found throwing rotten tomatoes rather than praise in his direction.

PPS Nobody is forcing you to go.

This is the best Ray of hope that I have seen from anyone since about April 2023. I have also shared elsewhere.

Nothing said about the future, only thing mentioned was the farewell meeting now having a date.

Crowd was smaller than I thought it would be as well.

We're you actually there? The crowd was very good with a delayed start to get everyone in.

The crowd was roughly the same for the last few meetings, all of which had delayed starts and for a change this year, for those meetings the whole grandstand was opened to enable people to get a seat.

Yes I was, I was talking in terms of it being the last ever official meeting. It was a good crowd, I just thought there would be more there.

Think he has made a good few quid from the current run of home meetings.

Could do with some more meat on the bones though so we have an idea what this plan is……

It was a reasonable crowd but the delayed start to get people in was due to the accident on the A1 nearby and the traffic build up as the Police closed the road.   Someone I know was in it for 2 hours and missed the first 7/8 races!

You can ask, but I doubt you'll get an answer.

And surely, the question of whether or not a bung has been made by one party to another, is a largely irrelevant one.

What is really getting up people's noses is the apparent total resignation by Buster Chapman to there being any future for speedway in Peterborough and his "advice" to everyone to do the same!

The lengthy statement contained so much self-serving guff about how grateful everyone ought to be for being given a competitive team, no matter how late in the season that was, it was almost enough to make me throw up my dinner. And it was a smokescreen.

Correct and that will be no small sum of money, circa £20k I would expect.
