Actually I think last night was first time this season Edinburgh have ridden to their clear potential.

When their top 5 click and with Hook clearly improving ride well together they are a match for anyone.

As for Brummies, at Plymouth we rode to potential against a team low on confidence for whom little is going right.

These type of results happen in all sports.

Micro analysis is pointless.

Brummies made them look good maybe would be my thoughts.

Don’t think any Brummies fans disagreed with signing Sedgmen.

And he has scored 35+1  from 3 away matches

Morris on a ten leaving the rest weak is part of the problem for sure but he should still be good for a near 9 ave by end of season?

Nielsen as I said before is a ridiculous signing. Constantly falling off and on the sidelines and not that good when he stays on either.

Sedgmen IMO has been a revelation since he took time out of the sport in the Uk and seems to of gone back a totally different rider. I do still think hes a bit inconsistent to rely on and would be a superb third heat leader but he hasnt been the problem.

It is really hard to see Brum lasting the season unless their owner is made of money though. Crowds of 200/300 cant be good? What kind of crowds were they getting when they were in the top tier and finished top of the league that one year ? With doyle, king etc? Im sure i read they were below 1000 even then.

Quite right... anyone with half a speedway brain knows that!

He should've been signed as soon as we knew the extent of Wrights injury back in April !

Probably cheaper than Wright too.....

Dan Thompson wont solve anything major though, in an ideal world need Morris average to plummet and then bomb out either nielsen for a 7ish pt rider or one of the reserves for a 6ish point rider. Even then would still look weak.

Totally agree....but signing young Dan over an injured (passed his best)Wright would have been a step in the right direction.

Nielsen is going to be even more of a liability when he returns from injury.

The team make-up is a shambles!

Yes, but we gained .73 when we signed Joe Thompson and we still had .22 in the bank from start of season.

If that's how things work.

Has Nielsen ever completed a season  without being injured. He is 28 now, still looks uncomfortable on a bike. Every time he rides at Redcar, has at least one fall.

Don’t think Wright and Nielsen should ever have been signed.

Unfortunately he is one of those riders highly susceptible to injury for whatever reason.

With James Wright, shoulder injuries so often cause under performance for a few weeks following the rider's return and a spell at No 2 often provides some help in the rehab process. But all too often an op is needed during the winter.

I think Birmingham thought with Edinburgh closing were getting Pickering and Paco which would've freed up 1.5 so could've had a 6.5/ 7 in middle order or kemp/ Dan T instead of proctor. Was probably best could put together in the circumstances but not a strong side

Shoulder injuries probably one of the worst in speedway for ruining a riders career , though Doyle went years and years struggling with his but ended up having a big op and it completely changed his career.
