Sheffield Tigers vs Ipswich Witches (playoff final 2nd leg) 05/10/23

Recommended Posts

Hopefully Doyle is okay after being taken to hospital after the meeting… hopefully just getting checked out!
Does anyone think Sheffield will pull it back and win?

BV nearly pulled it off and they started very slowly.

Ipswich are fragile away from home.

I think Sheffield will win 55-35 and take home the title.

Ipswich have rode away at Sheffield 3 times this season once in the Cup and twice in the League and didn't score less than 39 in all 3 matches, hopefully the trend will continue this Thursday.

Can be done - 2 or 3 5-1s in the first five races and anything is possible.

the question is is are Sheffield stronger with the guests or not - in my view Tobias and Tai are probably a stronger combo than Lambert and Harris so the Tigwrs are possibly a bit weaker!

Harris could be the decider on his day we know how good he can be - he has the potential to score 12+ and has Pickering who is another rider I like very much.

hoping the weather holds anyway - as I said on the Ipswich thread let’s just hope there are no bottom lips out from the losers whichever  team it is!

We have left ourselves a mountain to climb, and it is certainly advantage Ipswich.

But

Stranger things have happened, and if we can get off to a good start who knows he might just pull it off.

I see people speculating that Jason Doyle may be missing due to injury.

I would be very surprised if does miss the meeting, love him or loath him Jason Doyle is one of the bravest riders out there, my guess is he will be riding.

The first 5 heats are likely to decide where this is headed

If the Witches can be no more than 4 down at that point they should hold on. If the Tiggers have pulled back 8-10 then it's game on

I still think this is very much in the balance. From a personal perspective (and as a Panther) I would be very happy to see Ipswich win the title, especially for their supporters, I’ve always found them a good lot. (Apart from the one or two whose names escape me, but they know who they are LOL).

The two 39s in the league both included tactical rides for Emil in heat 9 ending in a 5-1 and a 4-2 plus there was a last heat 5-1 for the Witches in the first meeting when the result was already sorted.

Tigers need to score 15-9 in each block of four races then see what happens in 13'14 and 15 but that heat 12 last night was a big blow.
