Garry1603 353 Posted March 20 I agree with most of the posters that Ipswich will be too strong on Thursday. 10-14 point margin. Belle Vue will be very strong at home based on their collective performances in the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy, but they'll need Lidsey, Cook or Blodorn to develop into a genuine third heat leader if they are to win many away matches. ouch 1,191 Posted March 20 Looking at how all the number 3’s finished last year, Jaimon was the best by over half a point. It’s also true of how they started this year. Last season he was the only number 3 to have an away average over 7.

Lidsey is very much a heat leader already. His 2023 average inc bonus points was 8.22, and he won more races than Dan in 2023.

Not a scam but something that has been going on for decades and needs looking at imo. Both Jaimon and Emil put around 3 points on their starting average when including BP’s. That's already happend, both Pawlicki & Milik signed on higher assessed averages this year. 2
DoubleJ 1 Posted March 20 Looking forward to visiting tomorrow. Went to practise day last week and the supporters club event - now can’t wait to get some proper racing underway. I think it’ll be an Ipswich win but not by a massive amount
Aries 440 Posted March 20 Do Belle Vue not do meeting previews on their website?? Ipswich had theirs up Monday!
Gavan 5,050 Posted March 20 The possibility now of no Doyle swings this in Belle Vues favour if he ride though r/r should get us maybe 8 from
GeneralMelchett 482 Posted March 20 (edited) 15 hours ago, Aries said: 13 rides at Foxhall over three meetings last year, he won one heat. 8 from 5, 4 from 4 and 5 from 4. That’s nowhere near good enough from a rider of his quality whether he likes the track or not. Belle Vue still won both league meetings though despite Bewley underperforming so if he gets his act together it could be close. The issue Belle Vue have though is on both those victories, they had Lidsey and then Brennan scoring double figures at reserve, this time they have Mountain who also hates Foxhall and struggles with it. In the play off semi they had Blodorn at reserve who scored 3 points from 5 rides and they got battered. Just again proves that a high scoring reserve wins you meetings. Last year in the round 1 Fixture the Witches didn't have much backup to Emil and Jason and the Aces won the match effectively with a 5-1 in heat 12 which was a real bad heat for the Witches on more than one occasion last year! In the 2 Fixture it was much closer but Kurtz, I think, surprised most of Foxhall when having been on a 5-1 in heat 13 shot out of the traps to win heat 15 - again the Witches conceded a 5-1 in heat 12! Kurtz managed to get 2 wins against Emil and Jason last year which was probably about as good as any visiting rider at Foxhall v's them - so definitely no room for complacency. However on the plus for the Witches is no Charles Wright for the Aces who seems to go well at Foxhall! Still looking forward to it! MP78 17 Posted March 21 Should be an entertaining opener... I thought 50 ish with Doyle in the side, but can still Witches edging it with a guest such as Nicholls... If R/R, I'm not so sure
Arch Stanton 2,255 Posted March 21 Huge blow if Doyle is missing. Nicholls over R/R every time.
