I'm sure Berwick fans will be pleased with the contributions of Schlein, Kemp, Hume & Borke, but they only scored 4 when replacing Etheridge. Now imagine the slating Jye would've gotten on here if he only scored 4!

Happy with result is all that matters.

Berwick take on an inform Scunthorpe side managed by former Bandit David Howe. hoping for a good lead to take down to Scunthorpe for the 2nd Leg. Berwick TM has again changed things around from last Friday with Danyon back at number 2 Drew 4 Rory 5 and Jye3. Richard Lawson once again guests for the sidelined Lewi Kerr. For Scunny Jack Smith guests for Nathan Ablitt. Scunthorpe have a number of riders who can ride Shielfield well but i think with Berwick a little bit stronger at reserve we wil get a result. 1989 was the last time we won the KO Cup so we are hopefully due a good cup run. Prediction 52-38.

Not a bad guess

Scunny are going to have a job on pulling that back bit I wouldnt rule them out.

Good to see Kemp has found somewhere that he can produce consistently, perhaps he is finally about to realise his potential.

Can understand Jack Smith's frustration there , that was a ridiculous amount of time to hold the tapes

Still not using an automated start similar to issues with the transponders.

Decent meeting before the track dried out. I reckon a 20 point lead would be good to go to Scunny with. Not sure if 18 is enough, but it’s sure to be a cracker

He can blame his skipper for not taking the start marshalls orders

MTP and Allen are just unreliable away from Home.Scunny are a good home Team though.

Well done Bandits, sublime from Lawson, but a bit of a gate and go meeting. For us a lack lustre display, heat leaders need a kick up the backside.

The score line suggests a difficult meeting in the return leg on the 17th May. We can & should improve at the EWR & with only Edinburgh v Plymouth racing on the same night, if Kerr is still out, then guests would be aplenty. But, looking at the averages, Kerr has improved but so have most others & with not getting the +5%, Lawson, Harris, Masters can not guest. Nicholls rarely guests in the Championship so it leaves the likes of Stevie Worrall or Craig Cook to guest. C Wright could if fit.

They both could be saving their "Home" engines & trying different ones away although it is not working.

They have both been around a long time experimenting should be done at a practice session.Your missing Douglas who was a real No1 and very reliable  everywhere unlike his replacement.

Tall order to pull back 18 points. Well done to Lambet and Mountain they have been excellent, I can't expect too much from the reserves away from home but Howe needs to give the top 3 a talking into.

Did not see a lot of bad luck, but agree it’s not over yet.

Would he have even scored 4 though? From 4 rides you’d imagine he’d have probably fallen at least twice so whether he’d have got 4 is very debatable.

Unfortunately Scorpions have that old problem of not having a No1 now that Douglas has gone, basically it is a team of good second strings who occasionally ride like heat leaders + Kyle Howarth wasn't a very good signing
