Just an observation but my experience of Rye House from the early days of the open licence and the Ace of Hearts to the time that the Rockets moved from Rayleigh to Rye House (and many a rockets fan took the coach from the Weir), RH was a weekend track and Saturday, Sunday and the odd Bank holiday Monday but no way should it ever have been run as a week day track. It a great venture and a shame that it has been lost to the sport. -

Why would Northampton run at Oxford. There is a shale track at Northampton running stock cars. Could they not run speedway there? -
Don’t think it’ll be Thompson… but a surprise no one has mentioned …. -
I’m not sure. I think their ambition drove them to solely wanting top league racing, but that’s only my opinion. I’m sure others will know more than I do, I’m really piecing together what I saw myself and was told (lots of rumour and innuendo) at the time and coming up with what seemed to be the most likely scenario. Scott Nicholls says in his book he is still owed money from his time at Rye House. Whether the well dried up or not is another matter I guess. -
Got to start with the reserves I think. Hopefully Pijper & Scott are signed for 2026.
