The idea is to increase a more youthful culture within the sport. Yet, here we are again, wheeling out a near 80 year old where anyone under 25 probably only knows this guy for 'I'm A Celebrity'.
Surely, surely, surely, there must be recently retired football players / managers out there that have some spare cash to throw about?
We've tried Celebrities in the recent past & it didnโt even create a ripple. Keith Flint (rip fella) & Mark Webber. Also John McGuinness & Carl Fogerty from the biker world, not a ripple to help the sport.
It could be a foot in the door to Premier League Football but I'm not convinced his contacts would be recent enough. We absolutely need to try & get our fingers in to Football, Formula 1 & Pop Music, absolutely
First & foremost, British Speedway is absolutely desperate for modern facilities but, even looking at Belle Vue's, the numbers coming in are terrible considering their location & upturn over the last couple of decades of inner city upgrades.
The toughest thing for Speedway is, that absolutely everyone don't know what they want. From promoters to still attending fans, most have zero will &/or ideas to move this sport forward in this country.
