  4. I have a couple of months break from this place because it was getting boring reading the same people posting the same bull. Come back and this is one of the first things I see. Attention seeking still. Absolute saddo.

  5. This is a Glasgow thread, go pollute the threads that you want to discuss their team with. Just being totally honest.

  6. Tomorrow Martin and I head off for the AGM in Rugby where I hope we will have a constructive and positive meeting about the NL and how we take it forward. I have been reading on Social Media and I do understand the concerns being voiced about what our league will look like - how many teams, points limit, number of riders per team, competitions and so on... but we will strive to do the best we can for the league and present our ideas for the benefit of all. We will update you as soon as we are permitted. All the best

  7. Doyle confirmed!!! I thought 1) we couldn’t afford him & 2) He would never ride for Swindon again......Goes to show how much poop is talked about on here.

  9. I hear and respect what you're saying. The way I see it, lowering the points limit to 38 is in general being accommodated at the lower end and as you say, forcing teams to include riders who are not necessarily ready for the step up. What has happened to the good old days where riders progressed on merit? This farcical points limit is driving me mad, diluting the CL, forcing riders out of work and killing speedway. I've never had such a downer about the season ahead as I have now and to be honest, I'm past the point of caring which is quite sad for a supporter of the Rebels since they started and a Bandits fan long before that. I will of course continue to support until the day I have nothing to support but many of the supporters I stood with years ago no longer do. I'm probably the last of at least 10. Watch out PL; the 38 points limit will be with you too!

  15. In all fairness the reserves aren't poor although some are probably getting moved up a season early. The problem is that the top end is too strong. Changing the averages would have resolved this IF the promotions had taken it in the spirit it was intended and built strength in depth rather than create vast gulfs in their own teams. Its available in the rules so they have done it but its short sighted as the product as a whole will suffer.

  16. We had the future in watching Drew Kemp blossom and progress and now we don’t !! I shall reserve judgement til I see the full team but I have to say I’m not hopeful. I’m thankful steve Johnston and the drymls have retired otherwise they would be prime candidates

  21. Can we get back to who’s signing or what people would like to see regarding team for 2019 as the thread is just a complete mess, time to draw a line over the past two weeks comments and have some grown up discussion, no offence meant.

  22. The sensible thing for the BSPA to do is have two reserve races, that will be more entertaining and give the reserves a chance rather than them getting low points every match and getting demoralised.

  23. Fortunately then it was Harris who made a massive contrabution in us winning the League. That said, it wasnt just a one man team. You need 6 other riders. Personally, i feel Chris's average should be re-assessed. to take into consideration his age and the fact that he would freely admit he is not a No 1. But sadly this is Poole we are talking about..

  24. His 2018 premiership average was 5.77 so that will be his starting average for 2019

  26. He also spoke of his enthusiasm for boxing. I thought that had come to an end after his first round defeat by the pits wall at Leicester a couple of years ago? I don't think it will be dull with him around this season, as long as he gets that far without doing something daft.......

  37. Not enough people through the gate to get the money to spend on the Premiership is what is boils down to. If they could afford it, without jeopardising the future of the club, they would be in the top flight no question but they can't so they are preserving speedway racing in Somerset for the 20th successive season. They don't want to be there one little bit but needs must.

  38. It now seems that all those top names reported to have been be in contact with the club. were in fact wishing Carl Johnson Happy Birthday and not looking to sign up.

  39. From what ive seen/read the two clubs have been invited to join the Championship & quite rightly both are taking their time to decide (while the bspa assumed the invitation would be immediately accepted) . At some stage all businesses need to decide if they want to risk being higher in the market place or remain with the solid dependable customer base they have. Id be happy for Brum either way as long they remain afloat and the numbers add up. A lower standard Championship is hard to charge much more admission for, a lower standard NL would almost certainly need a reduction in costs....either way its squeaky time for the Mason's

  40. Don't have a problem with Glasgow paying riders exactly what they want, just don't come out in the Speedway Star moaning you are losing money and things can't continue as they are.

  42. Yes but something has to give as the team in its current format is 2.64 over. Say you replaced Worrall at 5.60 with Shanes at 3.31 thats only saving 2.29 which is still 0.43 over. Many said this was arguably the weakest team ever to win the league. A good chunk of luck/good fortune and a sublime one ride from Harris made it happen in 2018. In my opinion it won't happen again without some jiggery poke within the team. An example of a rejiggle and just an idea Josh Pickering 4.58 - Jordan Stewart 4.00 (both reserves) -B Kurtz 7.05 - C.Woryna 6.36 - Jack Holder 7.39 - F.Jakobsen 5.04 Leaves by my calc 8.08 for a number one. It is filled with 4 of the Worlds best up and coming young riders (excl the good Poles who won't ride here) - has 2 of arguably the brightest young Aussies coming thru at reserve - JP just turning 22 in 3 days and had 2 seasons in Champ improv GSA over the 2. JS just turned 20 only 2 weeks ago and had ok first season with Redcar. Seems to be riding well against Jaimon Lidsey back home currently in Aussie. This would leave the option open for say Harris (ok some say he should be in but I am split on it) - Chris Holder who I would have over Harris and would also be a pull to get Jack back - Or an 8 pointer which brings into play either GP or recent GP riders (of course if available). Of course that leaves out Josh G - Nicolai Klindt - Richie Worrall and MAYBE Harris but whichever way you cut it we still need to offload at least 2 riders to get within the limit. I can't see Matt letting either Kurtz/Woryna or Jakobsen not being included as all 3 have the potential to up their GSA's. Other riders who could be considered if you want to jiggery poke on the av are Morris (if he was available and even wanted to ride for Poole) at 6.60 and Sundstrom who is now on only 6.04. Matt has a an interesting headache and juggling act on his hands.

  43. Sorry Starry, but no one with an attained average should ever have it re-assessed. You don't want to open that can of worms imo ....

  44. its not really that weaker. the big lads are still plying their trade . the only thing that weaker are the reserves anyone with a 4 point man @ reserve like saj @ Glasgow stand a real good chance of silverware . oopps , another Glasgow signing just been mentioned . thats 5 names you have now . good job this in on the computer , would not want to smudge the wet ink . !

  45. Unfortunately not; and nothing so "derring-do" covert or surreptitious, it was from a conversation at Peterborough with "Top Men" you know like those in the Harrison Ford Film Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark... There’s a scene at the end of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” that always had me thinking.... No, not the one where the crate containing the Team Announcements that are being made are stored and being hidden away in that huge BSPA warehouse (along with all the other crates containing things the BSPA wants to keep from us – the club losses, evidence of alien life, super-efficient bikes saving riders money, cheap engines, the 6 man team proposal, riders sign on fees and salaries, pay slips etc.), but the one just before that where Indiana slams the BSPA agents at whose bequest he recovered the Team Announcements: Indiana: Fools. Bureaucratic fools! Marion: What’d they say? Indiana: They don’t know what they’ve got there. Dr. Jones, the dedicated arbiter that he is, wants the Team Build Announcements to be studied and analysed so that all there secrets can be learned and that they can be confirmed as being fair and equitable. He suspects, with good reason, that the inept bureaucrats in the BSPA will either botch the study or worse, bury it again, hiding all the evidence that there has been illegal practices going on. Maj. Eaton: We have top men working on it right now. Indiana: Who? Maj. Eaton: Top… men. But I think that the BSPA really does know what it’s doing, and hiding the information away like they do is most likely the best option and it was these "Top Men" who must unfortunately remain anonymous who I had my conversation with. I would only be putting you in mortal danger if I was to reveal their names, so sorry Indie but "Mum is the Word".... Oops a mean Singy... Regards THJ

  46. I would hope so and then we can have him at reserve!!!! He’s ridden Ekstraliga though so this always seems to lead to a higher assessed average for some reason?? Like Drozdz last season. He had ridden Ekstraliga and came in on assessed average of 5.00.

  48. Google translate Do you really want to go down this route with me; you clown, I have forty years to deal with contract law and the same in Employment Law; thirty years in European contract law so you can take your "Bar Room Solicitors Certificate" and wipe your backside with it; because that's all worth it. All you need to know is this 1. Breach of contract. An agreement was concluded and broken. It follows that damages could be attributed. If the contract was signed or not. The contract was "Agreed" and "Completed" 2. Induce (the person (s) promoting contractual breach). To invoke another to break a contract is a violation of English law. Simply say it's illegal and a crime: The law is completely aware of it, "No ambiguity", "Nothing misleading" and "Clearly," under English law. Do you want to debate these points further, as I am very happy to educate you further, but as a person has reasonably suggested, we can take this conversation as far as you wish through the process of "Private Messaging" In addition, do not mention what you think the BSPA does as it is obvious, you have no clue; and have made your own interpretation; and you take complete rubbish; as usual… Absolutely disgusting behavior, well, there is a statement I've heard a few times before; and I will tell you what otherwise constitutes a disgusting behavior; "Tax evasion"; if you pay taxes in the country you are employed in; with respect to the European Union or in the United Kingdom or your home country: The company can not receive payment terms; regardless of whether there are specific payment dates in the contract. If a company is invoiced correctly, they must pay the invoice or the contractor applies the case through the courts to receive their due payments. But if you do not have a bank account in this country and you do not want your salary paid to your home country bank account, where does the employee or subcontractor leave it in respect of repayment of money owed? How does the employer pay the invoice? Therefore, the point you make is called "Actual". "Riders would not want to drive for a club that seems to have track record for riders who are not paid for billing." It's strange because on Saturday evening and all the way up until Sunday morning your chap was going to ride for the club that does not seem to pay and how do they pay them there 1. Does not produce an invoice, and 2. Do not have an English bank account, and 3. Wish it this way So to use your sentence; "Perhaps you must first understand the facts"; of what you can and can not do, both legal and moral; before issuing false public statements on an open forum about what you think is correct. Instead of jumping on the keyboard bandit train; clowns like you; should focus more on what they say and write it down on a piece of paper first; before you start typing on a keyboard and try to defend it irresponsible. Two mistakes do not make a right in any culture; and whatever you say here I have the facts the details; and correspondence; to support what I say. If this goes to another forum (legally it is), I can defend myself and my club fully to try to do the right, even undermining. You can not do that… Like to jump to conclusions; I can quote the "Declaration of Facts"; with something as simple as posting on social media; and many people who do not know me personally still know who I am here at; so rather than state I do this on a masked, identified forum; I am very happy to be clean on who I am; I have nothing to hide. Send me a private massage; with who you are and let us share who we are both; as I am fascinated; and also if you wish to take this on; We can do it through this "Private Message" media privately; As you try to wash your dirty clothes here, you do not; your new club; or the person you try to represent something good at least; as you fail miserably; You have had two attempts that were quite pathetic to say the least; Or you can just write me as you have my number. Or, press my buttons and see me explode, it's your call; all i would say is very careful about the result if you continue with this ... Regards WF I do hope my sentiment has not been lost, should you require the English version please "Private Message" me and I will quite happily forward you the English text if my translation is somehow ambiguous; furthermore I am quite happy to progress this through the Private Messaging option should you wish. For your information I am also quite happy to draw a line under this; move on; and put the whole shooting match to bed. Your call ... Regards WF

  50. Absolutely right, I gave up on the forum in our Elite League days. There was a group of people whose main pleasure seemed to be insulting Bob Dugard and everything Eastbourne. The change of forum participants is probably one of the reasons I have enjoyed the last four years so much. I shall continue following the NL and hope Kent and the IOW do well. I do believe Jason Edwards and Charlie Brookes will be loaned to one of them and Georgie and Tom may well double up, so there could be a common interest.
