Apparently he’s been riding injured most of the year but it’s funny that he can’t ride now that Edinburgh’s season is effectively over and Poole need points to finish top. And yes it’s the same that Porsing is fit now that Lynn can’t make the top four. Speedway needs to stop damaging itself, can’t believe the penny hasn’t dropped yet.

Totally agree! It was a brilliant atmosphere and the banter between all sets of fans was immense. Having been to Berwick a couple of times this season I left a little bit unimpressed with the gate and go racing , but saying that Saturday night was a whole different kettle of fish. With regards to comments being made towards Craig cook on various threads it seems that there is a lot of haters out there, if it had been another rider in heat 15 or 30 , I don't think people would be debating or not as much. Craig is a talent and he is the top rider in the championship by a country mile so it is easy to make him out the villain, let' be honest if he did not ride for Glasgow is their seriously any fan who would not want him in their team. On Saturday night speedway was the winner and I for one would gladly pay £30 every week to be entertained like that. Well done Berwick speedway.!

To be honest I can't see what all the fuss was about. Craig Cook went for a gap, he's a racer, it's probably instinct. The gap closed, there was contact, Jye was brought down, Cook was excluded. All the bravado that followed was good theatre, but it amounted to a great deal of not much. The crowd got wound up and it just added to what was already a great atmosphere. Cook apologised, the riders probably talked it through and the world goes on turning. He may have had hid troubles lately but I can't see hiw the race on Saturday night had anything to do with that. He wanted to win the race and saw an opportunity to do so. Brilliant meeting, the crowd got something to talk about and speedway for me was the winner. I would love if every meeting had the atmosphere Saturday night had. A big crowd, fans giving each other friendly banter and making a load of noise. It was great to be a part of.

Good news for Poole that its off Time for Wells to be fit for the restaging......or he may have stubbed his toe by then

Poor old Ricky was carrying that nasty shoulder injury against Wolves. No wonder he struggled. Have to use horses for courses guests now. A real shame as it looked like Ricky was about to ram in some big scores for the playoffs. Our chances are now officially wrecked.

You also said you hoped Glasgow would be knocked out of the play offs. As for Cook`s appeal you would think it would be to everyone satisfaction that this gets sorted sooner rather than later for club and rider.

Well tell that to a stand full of supporters around me , who were incensed that the track had not been graded but, actually bladed and outside line totally removed, robbing us of actual racing instead of follow the leader hugging the inside.

yet folk have moan about lack of grading this season proves a point,let a track develop its self,seen way to many tractors this year round and about,last time we were at Owlerton was a classic example,lovely racing line developing,out come the tractor for a few laps and kills it dead!! and massive well done to the Bears yesterday for coming back and grabbing a point Good luck in the playoffs.will pop up and have a look!

It would mean that the extra places come from the challenge- Vaculik, Thomsen and then Aspgren. That means even more decent riders would be outside top 8 and only 4 wildcards.

I'm 2 miles from the track and as I said earlier surprised at the early call off. Yesterday was dry all day, as was Saturday. This morning there was slight drizzle about 9 and at 1030 I walked to the supermarket and got slightly damp in the light rain, it wasn't heavy enough to warrant an umbrella! By 1230 the rain had stopped and has been dry ever since. Maybe Buster gets weather updates from the same place as Ford gets sick notes

In the mid to late 70's Exeter had a tie up with Canterbury as Wally Maudsley was co promoter, with John Richards, at Exeter and Promoter at Canterbury. In those days ther was no doubling up but it was usual for 2nd division #1 & 2 to be linked to a 1st division track. You could only be used as a #8 or to replace an injured/ill rider. The 1st division was so strong then that 2nd division heat leaders were on a par with the 1st division reserves.

Be fair Gavan. Wells did his shoulder before signing for Pirates (thought thats why most thought it a poor signing?) and after riding 5 meetings in 5 successive days - only managing 3+3 and a retirement yesterday - he's in so much pain it needs treatment. Poole would have used Ryan Douglas but Peterboro have scammed him in to replace Garrity tonight - so Poole have to wait til Thursday before using him. Can't use him in the play-offs unfortunately but hopefully Wells will be fully fit by then. Not sure who we will use against Ipswich next Monday? Whoever it is will undoubtedly make us weaker!

Gilks has real potential,,fast from the gate ,and stylish in the bends a little more speed and he could be right up there Like to see him in the championship next season..
