As we draw closer to the end of the domestic Speedway season I would personally like to thank the people over @ Speedway updates for there continued service during the season.10 points

Great news for Poole fans, Jack Holder must have recovered from his bruised toe nail, now confirmed in the line up for the CZ golden helmet. I am attending the meeting, so will pass on all the well wishers from the many concerned Poole supporters of that nasty injury!!8 points

we could hear you in the pits all night, expect SS had his ear plugs in, and was sobbing so loudly he couldn't hear anything6 points

You can tell when Shovvy is telling porkies...... His lips move5 points

Well, if it is included, I hope there are no Poole riders invited, they struggle to complete 4 laps at Foxhall5 points
-
Funny - I stood on the first bend and would describe the crowd as energetically and enthusiastically loud. (as they were ag Poole in the latter part of the first leg clash.)4 points

Well the winter is a long time so I for one will be there to watch. It’s an official trophy so worth winning.4 points

Many have described Poole as the Man Utd of Speedway. Now I get what they mean.4 points

As a Lynn fan, I wanted Ippo to win. After toegate, I was on the edge of my seat, willing Ippo to win. Look at Sarg's ride on a very tricky track in the rain in HT 14. Got less skill, but bigger gonads than Holder and Kurtz put together. Shades of Holdergate at Lynn...4 points

As a number of teams have 2020 topics already - seems to be a good time to consider the Eagles options for next season. Already announcing after the final meeting on Saturday that Lewis Kerr and Kyle Newman will remain with Arlington side subject to agreement with their parent clubs, and confirmation of the overall league structure of the sport next year. Certainly those two riders would of been the first two names on my team sheet. Kerr has been excellent this season and is certainly a fans favourite. Newman has been excellent and has offered stability to the side and got better as the season has gone on. It is probably just a matter of time before Tommy Brennan is announced ; now that he is back on the bike. Depending on the average limit It would be a surprise if they didn't go for Edwards having offered him a couple of months to gain experience at Championship level.3 points

You can smell it in the air, the usual shovvy bullshine.3 points

Maybe Rory phoned ahead and told the referee to check for damp patches .3 points

expect they dumbed it down so you could hear Nige and Kelv because believe you me, even without airhorns, it was noisy. For once when Natalie said a big crowd here tonight, she was actually telling the truth.3 points

You should congratulate them Starman. They won fair and square. No arguments there. It was our performance or non performance that cost.3 points

Still miss the days of Pride of the East to bring the curtain down on the current season. Could be done early October, throw in a few riders we want to look at for 2020, maybe change format to that of SGP to keep riders interest up through the meeting. Kind of fizzled out too early this year and a long winter ahead2 points

So would i, yet some 'promoters' still think the updates site has a detrimental impact on their crowds!2 points

Skidder - With respect. I support Poole but I am also interested when non Poole fans enter into interesting debate or offer both positive & negative comments in respect of opinion or team building. I accept that Steve Shovlar and Starman don't always get the best out of him in exchanges but that is because its like waving a red rag to a bull between them. That's one thing I have noticed in the last 3 years I have populated this forum. Personally he has always engaged with me when discussing speedway and we do not engage in comments re cheating/manipulation or anything other than sensible speedway exchanges. I can only comment from my perspective and that for me is good enough. For others - Well all I do is smile and have a giggle when the parties involved have their petulant exchanges :-)2 points

As there are no tactical substitutes in the final on what basis do Wolves have "a massive advantage" ? It seems to me that you did not get your own personal preference.2 points

But with an 8 year age difference Williams had the advantage of being at the top of his game when Craven was coming up and got out just as Craven was at the top. Only qualified for 4 Finals all at his home track,PC 10......2 points

What a complete and utter farce Speedway is ! Weather rains off tonight's meeting at Monmore, so Swindon straight away lose the second leg home advantage that they have worked for all season ! Absolutely ludicrous, and typical of the amateurish way the sport is run in this country, no wonder the papers and television don't take it seriously !2 points

The crowd was very quiet, even at the end it was no more than a few cheers and ripples of applause. I stood there on the first bend and witnessed it live. I said earlier how different clubs fans react. At Poole the roof would have come off the stadium. At Foxhall, just above polite clapping and gentle cheering.2 points

We are very widely spread in a big capacity stadium, the noisiest bunch are the Massif on the back straight, absolutely no microphones anywhere near us though, in the video you can only hear the home straight people.2 points

If those 7 meetings were packed with the top riders in the world, organised professionally and sponsored to the hilt by major national companies making it a product to be proud of, I suspect, for some, the answer would be a resounding yes.2 points

We showed you how to do it. Learn from the masters.2 points

All sport is meaningless, but usually fun. I just enjoy a night out at the speedway, but I suppose others must put themselves and others off just to look clever.2 points

and maybe it means I (a non fan) know more about speedway outside of Dorset than he does2 points

You weren’t in bad form at the end of the season. You finished in style winning at Kings Lynn (no other team had) and topped the table under huge pressure from the most in form team Swindon, Poole were very much in decent form. It’s just 4 riders let you down when it mattered.2 points

Swindon had the right idea by picking us if they finished top financialy2 points

it isnt getting beat by this years"cannonfodder"as you put it that would dent the market value its the fact that only 1000 turned up to watch the home leg that dents value.i know he wont take satisfaction from it but skidder did predict selecting ipswich was "financial suicide",forget the trophy had to reach the final to balance the books.Everthing went our way in the play-offs last season, well beaten this y,r thats sport, congratulatilons to the ipswich riders2 points

Not surprising getting beat by this years #cannonfolder over two legs is sure to put a big dent in your market value2 points

Poole are a poor side end of, living off past glories you mocked me months ago when i said you were the weakest out of the four team's left.Ipswich regrouped stopped there poor run of results and brought in Iversen/ Sarjeant Poole kept with Wells and brought Johansson in tells you everything. It would be best if Ford moves along but what has he got to sell???? the promotional rights and an old tractor can't see anybody else taking over anytime soon.2 points

I came through monsoon rain at The Forge, when I came to the Royal Infirmary it was dry from there to Ashfield. It was two hours before start time and the track staff were working on the track, I was very surprised to find it was off with a clear sky. O.K. I was at the track and it may have been different if I had arrived an hour later to find it off but I don't think enough time was given to allow work to be done on the track. I've heard that there was no consultation between the referee, riders or staff, if true that is shocking.2 points

Well we can't call it Holdergate can we? We've already had one of those. How about Toegate?2 points

I used to think shovvy was the most disliked person on here and that Starry was just a complete idiot, having read all the rubbish, I've changed my mind, starry is still a complete idiot, and probably the most disliked, a total clown, absolute buffoon, a monumental codpiece.2 points
-
Personally don’t think the shower hit Ashfield, we came through it at Euro central ,the streets in Possil were bone dry and no puddles in road when we arrived at 6.10.and blue sky.Bottom line though match was off.Hey Ho, nothing new these days.2 points

When Holder pulled out with a sore toe I couldnt help but think about Harris getting run over at Wimborne Road and running back to the pits to win the re run. Compare the commitment2 points

Thought I read that Swindon had already won it! but hey I'm not a speedway fan anymore so I'll bow to your superior speedway knowledge1 point

We need to sign young and hungry riders. Not over the hill riders like Andersen or Nicholls. Jepsen Jensen, Zmarzlik and Dudek to name a couple.1 point
-
If Chris demands Jack to be at Poole before he signs, i'd say jog on. He is in no position to demand anything imho. What I meant is I wouldn't have any Holder at Lynn, and probably Kurtz as well. I don't trust em/ Fraud.1 point

Plusnet is also part of the BT/EE group, couple years ago now I took advantage of Plusnet good value for telephone/broadband package and got BT Sport package for £10 per month. Was a monthly contract, so just did the GP season. £10 per month to watch, usually, 2 GP’s was good value. However bband in my area then was a max of 1.2 mbps, dreadfully slow, and that was no matter who the provider was (Virgin cable non existent in the area). Then Openreach started putting in, to my shock but delight, fast fibre and to the door. When I enquired how fast, I was asked how fast do you want. Keeping cost reasonable I selected 52mbps, but since then it’s been bumped up to 72mbps, and I do get that figure (I done the bband speed test). I get the BT Sport app, so got access on my iPad and iPhone, but have a BTTv box so I can record the GP’s for winter watching. Just had a week away in a lovely apartment on Anglesey, 50” tv in the lounge (40” in the kitchen), but just access to Freeview. No problem, just connected to wi-fi, got BT Sport app on iPad, took my Chrome Cast with me, cast to the TV through HDMI and saw Cardiff GP on the Sat, all of MotoGP, 2, 3 on the Sunday, Poole v Ipswich on the Thursday. Brilliant. I just hope BT cart on with the speedway contract, Eurosport don’t seem committed to showing complete speedway marches, which is very annoying.1 point
