The UK still have a plan built on "can't run without fans in the stadiums", which is still a distinct possibly... Cannot blame riders for following the leagues that appear to be making (as much as they can do), cast iron plans...

Not entirely. The follow up question is why has he chosen Denmark (probably no more than 8 fixtures) over the UK? (I suspect Poland, Denmark and Sweden all being in Schengen unlike the UK might be a factor)

sadly however most clubs aren't interested in running any level of second halves so the numbers and opportunities diminish even further. I in 100 may not be great but if you consider how many are taking up the sport each year 50 maybe? the figures look a lot worse.

I would rather see a race than Jason Doyle fly out of the traps and win by a mile, Belle Vue if they track the roughly the same 1-7 will have no out and out number 1, but we should have a team of racers, good racing gets people talking. Boring races don't. J Doyle is a great rider and I enjoyed watching him round the NSS. but I would sooner watch a close exciting race and that IMHO is what promoters should be striving to do by improvements to their race tracks.

Why would there be a 1 star grade? I think you can only build a team of 38 plus 3 star or 39 plus 2 star Unless you can build 40 plus 1 star everyone not a 3 star or above is a 2 star. The numbers are irrelevant, they might as well have been A, B and C grades

I get tested twice a week at my job in a special needs school. We have remained open throughout. Luckily i had my first jab yesterday as part of the process.

Rory was on 8.69 last full season at Somerset. If you were (just for this exercise) to take out Cook and work on Rory/Steve W/Danny K/Josh Mac/Steffan Niel / Zane Kell you get 36.92 (after deducting the 2.5% Brit reduction). We can build to 38 plus a 3 point rising star or 39 plus a 2 point rising star. Then comes down to who do we get as that rising star ??. A number already signed up from 2020 but we went down the strength in depth Aussie route. Anders rowe I would lovew to have seen as geographically right area IF he was assessed as a 3 pointer (why not as he is only 18). Or even a 4 but rules say has to be a 2 or 3 pointer rising star. Others on the forum indicate he has already signed elsewhere but not seen any announcements. Would help if us the poor paying public who keep this sport afloat (as it cant run without supporters in UK) could be allowed to see what looks like a top secret rising stars list. Like what harm could it do us seeing it ???

Read somewhere 1 star are ndl riders with little experience. So Palin, Thompson, Edwards etc are rated on good NDL form. CL experienced are 3 or 4 stars

Has anyone actually seen Richie round the NSS, he’s absolutely terrible. Never has any speed at all and we got rid of him for that reason, same as we did with Nicholls as he couldn’t get to grips with the track either. Would be a shocking signing

They haven't IronS and its all total guess work until something official comes out... but it gives the fans something to discuss... So I have invented this and as I stated above with the following explanation... "Below 2.00/New assessed 2.00ers = 1 Star; and the only reason that I have went this low is because some of the young kids that have been suggested have never ridden in the Championship whatsoever so cant really be in the same bracket as a 2 Star rider who has a year under his belt; however I am only guessing but I cant see how it can operate any other way"... Part of the problem is that the bikes are just to quick/powerful for the UK tracks. Part of the UK reset should be slower standard equipment that is not only better suited to the UK tracks but also cheaper to maintain.

Big financial differences between the two although high level team sports join a bubble and remain within it throughout travels etc. Individuals however will end up like the Tennis players in Aus at present i suspect. It could work if the same 7 riders rode for the same team in Poland, England and Sweden but as its all such a mish mash i fear all the Uk will see is UK based riders.

Let’s go back 15 years and Len Silver ran full second half racing after the main meeting and helped produce a lot of good young riders. Unfortunately the problem has always been at what level these riders can achieve and as is so often the case they find a level they want and don’t improve through ability or in a lot of cases injury. Every so often a gem turns up but because the standard required for top flight racing is so high today, it’s probably 1 in 100 as opposed to 1 in 10 some 40 years ago.

The point exactly, the sport needs to get the tracks to produce racing not gate and go crap that does nothing for no one. Good racing will attract fans, that and getting back to encouraging teams to sign just our own locally grown talent will go a long way to avoiding problems like the Polish league rules in the future.

As far as I recall, that was to allow him to do the French league as well as Poland, Sweden and UK. As the French league is not fully pro and happens mainly before the Polish season starts, they gave the Ok for him to do that as an extra. However, it looks like he has signed in Denmark and Sweden instead of the UK as his other 2.

You need to get them there in the first place. As an example (and no disrespect to anyone) imagine that you are used to watching Jason Doyle, Troy Batchelor and Rasmus Jensen and then your top 3 riders become Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennet and you have to pay the same admission. Apart from the die hards, how do you get fans to attend? Remember - value for money.

Good point you make regarding the checks on bikes , considering the amount of stolen bikes heading to Europe Hopefully more checks will also find some of the many stolen Sprinter & Transit vans that end up in Poland , Romania etc.
