The sad reality is we are all joking about it but no one will be surprised if it happens4 points

The Poles won’t worry if riders are happy or not. The Poles dictate and if riders are not happy they are shown the exit door.4 points

The only stumbling block I can see is international travel from the UK is banned at the moment and with the virus on the rise again in Europe that’s Is looking as if that could stay in place longer . Things of course could change . Lawson is the obvious choice and he will be available each meeting as Riss could have major travel problems and not be available each meeting and in all honesty I’d thought a Brit should be employed first .4 points

Ahhh... The rules will be changed to suit, weeks after every other team is finalised Honestly that would not surprise me...3 points

Having spoken to the main man the rider in question will fit into the team as per the rules on the day he is announced. Just hope they don't announce him before they announce the new rules.3 points

"The clubs have been split into two regional groups with Belle Vue, Sheffield and Wolverhampton making up one section and Ipswich, King’s Lynn and Peterborough in the other. The group winners will meet in the Final." “It might only be three or four races, but the importance is to give track time to these lower-starred riders, the ones and twos, to add to their National Development League racing." So each club will stage 2 home matches, that will consist of 4 races. Whats the point of these riders travelling to a track for that? Most clubs could easily fit in more races if needed. Once they have appeared for their team will they become assets of that club? Also could these riders be able to ride for a club in each Group? Just seems a half hearted attempt to me.... so perfectly fits with British speedway2 points

So what are they classing as the ‘ juniors ‘ in this scenario ? National League riders ? MDL/NJL riders ? or have they a box of brand new juniors ready to ride one or two rides a week or 4 possibly 5 matches ( 10 rides ? ) this season ? Sounds like they have just come up with a new name for something that already existed at most tracks to me only vastly watered down.2 points

Wouldn’t be the first time a promotion/team has been shafted and snubbed by the BSPA (BSPL) once they have decided to go against the grain and ‘gone rogue’. Hopefully that won’t be the case this time and there can be at least one meeting at Somerset this year.2 points

It Seems clear that Barry Bishop is positive & has the desire for speedway to continue on the IoW. I'm sure he is aware of the current issues, but he is looking to start in a league that may start in May/June. A lot can & will change between then & now. Good luck to him & I hope it can prove successful2 points

2 home & 2 away fixtures + maybe a final. Is there any real point to this?1 point

I read that another way... didnt he say clubs would run junior races as much as possible even if there wasnt a junior league match? That was what I thought the 3 or 4 races was referring to... I also read it as meaning that the junior league is for the lower NL riders who arent doubling up or on the rising star list. So I'm guessing this is a level in between the current Development Leagues and the NL. That wouldn't be a bad thing, its just a shame about the nomadic teams that will be missing, and the resulting reduction in team places for those trying to get in the NL.1 point

think it will run under the MSDL 4 rider, 6 heat formula ---- perhaps the clubs could also enter the MSDL to give more track time??1 point

and it still exists !! The MDL came first , then the SDL then it amalgamated to become the MSDL and will be running in 20211 point

BWD Was British when he wanted to ride in the NL. I'm sure he could be again.1 point

I,m sure if bwd is available and willing to ride for scunthorpe that the powers to be will come up with a scenario for his average to fit1 point

"This has meant that we have contracted ten drivers with an official average, while the squad may only consist of eight. From the beginning, it has been clear that Jason Jörgensen is intended for our all-Swedish team Smålänningarna, which we have together with Dackarna. Thus, there is only one driver that we do not have room for. However, this has resolved a bit by itself for the time being as Nikolai Klindt for personal reasons will probably not be available to us from the start of the season and thus is placed outside the registered squad. Nikolai is in the middle of a divorce and has children, a house and an ex-wife in England, which means that he needs to focus on being able to be close to his children and since the pandemic currently creates uncertainty about travel, we have together with Nikolai made this decision. He will therefore start the season in Ipswich in the British league if this starts. At the same time, we have also guaranteed Nikolai one of our transfer cards as soon as he is ready to drive in Sweden. He is our captain and given in the squad. The day he is ready, we will make a change based on what the situation in the team looks like then." Looks like Nicolai is in no doubt for the Witches, even if it is under sad circumstance. Hope Nicolai and his family get everything sorted out properly1 point

A Brit would be employed first if they got rid of Proctor Unsure on the travel restrictions but thought sportsmen could travel with tests etc.If they can't then that would be a blow to all clubs as many have riders riding elsewhere in Europe too.1 point

The announcement is not even sure how many races will make up each fixture. Surely they should have sorted out how many riders are in a team and the race format before making the announcement?1 point

Couldn't agree more but can you see Cardiff running as I can't .but let's blame the Bsp it makes for a good story1 point

Garry May has already confirmed Somerset are able and willing to run the Pairs - but depends if they are offered the chance to do so.1 point

A Covid guest rider signed by a club can ONLY ride and replace a team rider who has been diagnosed as having Covid. A Warsaw contract rider can ride for the team he has signed a contract with but is also allowed to move clubs at any time. The 8 and 16 are U 23 and can only replace 1-5 team members unless the 8 /16 is Polish U 21 and then could replace 6/7 and 14/15.1 point

Utter rubbish. Have you ever been involved in riders wage negotiations ? Whoever the rider is , at whatever position, he will be after the best deal he can get and the promoter will try and get him at the lowest rate he can get, that’s human nature. All riders and promoters talk, they all know what the going rate is so no one gets hoodwinked. Reserves will get reserves rates.1 point

You rightly quote a real world situation....but speedway lives in a parallel universe where promoters can't see beyond their own stadium's car park, let alone what's going on in foreign countries So does any of this actually surprise you?1 point

Regarding James Wright. I saw it at the Ben fund on his come back last year For me he was the most impressive rider on show. A gamble worth taking1 point
