Osborne didn't own Reading, his association with it ended when operations ceased. The council told us Speedway would never return there so nobody should be encouraged by the fact the outline is visible. They also said it was now owned by a developer but that could just be a subsidiary of the Pru who had some sort of stake in the land before I believe.

If his back wheel is ON the line and that makes it ok then the rule needs changing. Surely no wheels should cross the line? Didnt tracks used to be required to have a raised kerb? The rule should be that both wheels stay on the track. I have never seen anyone put their front wheel that far onto the grass. -

Good point well made. It annoys me when people get criticism for not singing along, you can be proud to be British without being a fan of the Royal family.

I'd never heard of Speedway Futures Ltd until today, were you all aware of their existence?

So how do they typically arrange their line ups? (sorry but I dont know anything about some of the riders in these teams). At what numbers do they put their best riders, etc etc?

We spoke to the council 3 times about the possibility of going back to Smallmead and were given a resounding "no chance". As for homeowners there is a housing estate 300 yards along on the opposite side of the road. -
Zagar was an absolute star at Reading- but it was a long time ago! I hope he can still be a star for Birmingham, they deserve some luck.
