  1. As some will know, the invaluable Shielfield track staffers are working very hard this spring, moving the start line and changing/upgrading the safety fencing. Less than five weeks to Launch Night/Press'n'practice weekend!

  2. With BSPL having spent a large five figure sum on transponders last year they are missing from the rule book this year. This begs the question whether they will be used this year or has money been squandered? Is it just an error which will be rectified by a supplementary regulation?

  3. Pity you didn't keep your promise, instead of further spouting your inane, usubstantiated drivel towards Edinburgh

  5. After a 4 year hiatus Speedway Champions is back, www.speedwaychampions.yolasite.com - noted the revised url. Updated to the 2023 season and the ongoing 2024 Oz, NZ and winter Ice events, the individual champions of all speedway nations, major and minor, past and present, from Argentina to Zimbabwe, are listed, along with Long Track, Ice Racing and Grass Track national and regional champions. These are supplemented with the title-holders of other FIM 'Track' disciplines of Sidecar Speedway and Flat Track racing, - official and unofficial - , in both UK and Europe, plus USA and the newer German and Australian events of Krowdrace and 'Aussie Flat Track Nationals' (AFTNs), now granted official Championship status for 2024. Winners of other respected former and current speedway competitions, such as British Match Race Championships, Czech, Aussie and Polish Golden Helmets, League Riders Championships and ultimately, World Championships, are also included. www.speedwaychampions.yolasite.com

  6. If there's a rider shortage then having a low limit makes sense, means clubs have to use NL riders to compete. If the limit is higher, the richest clubs can pick more heat leaders & weaker clubs can't compete & we get another league of the haves & have nots like last year. This year's limit seems to have worked well, Plymouth had a team (till an injury occured) and there are plenty sub 6.5 riders for Workington to choose from.

  7. Cannot happen, as it has been decreed that Bomber (or anyone else), could only ride for ONE team in the play offs, if his own doesnt make it.. Seemingly last years play off situation has been reviewed and we now have the new regulation... Perfectly acceptable... Some, however, still dont take this sport too seriously...

  9. When Phil Morris was the guest at the Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club recently, he did say that transponders would be in use this year.

  10. Lynn have the best reserve pairing imo, Wojdylo/Rowe or MPT/Rowe… Kerr is obviously a great number 6 but Boughen is nowhere near Rowe, not yet anyway
