  1. Hungary has now expressed their will to join us in this team competition. We are still working on the dates, but it looks like this will be a three team competition. Bavarian, I think Romania is not an option for us, because it's too far to sent our riders there. This competition is meant for countries in Central Europe which are close together and therefore travel expenses are not very big. Italy and Germany are among the candidates to join us in the future.
  2. I've heard FIM is also thinking of having one round in Florida. A venue/track in Daytona Beach is due for inspection in the following weeks/months.
  3. What do you mean with avatars? Team logos? For team logos and team managers (Trener), check here: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2009/02/...n-ii-liga-2009/
  4. According to sportowefakty.pl: Shachtar Chervonograd SPS Speedway Rivne SKA Lviv SK Trofimov Rivne Kaskad Rivne
  5. This competition is meant for national teams, Slovenia vs Croatia etc. At the moment it is still not known how many teams will take part. As I wrote, Slovenia and Croatia are confirmed, but there is still no official news from Hungary.
  6. Speedway.si is deep at work at the moment, with more and more interviews done in recent days. Here are the latest ones: Matic Voldrih, current Slovenian U21 vice champion and one of the strong favourites for this year's title: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...0&Itemid=91 Aljosa Remih, young rider from Krsko, a big talent who hasn't yet fulfilled the expectations: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...1&Itemid=91 Maks Gregoric, probably the fastest rising star in Slovenian speedway: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...2&Itemid=91 Nejc Malešič, newcomer from Ljubljana: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...3&Itemid=91
  7. I've heard the official reason why Austria will not take part, but I don't want to reveal it publicly. They decided to organize their own open championship, but I'm not sure where will they get the riders from. As I wrote, league format will be used, two teams against each other in each match, with 7 riders in each team, similar to polish leagues.

  11. Hi guys I know it's a bit early, but I was wondering if anyone is planning to go to Inzell in January/February? There's a lot of Slovenians coming to this meeting, at least 15 to 20 just from my group, including almost the whole team of speedway.si, and we are also bringing a lot of ice racing "virgins" along. Would be great to meet the BSF ice racing fans there. We won't be hard to find, as we will probably be the loudest group of people there.
  12. Slovenian junior champion Sandi Conda has also joined Krosno. And another Slovenian is close to make a deal with a polish second league club ...
  13. I would consider coming along, but only if you run a coach, Ljubljana to Gorican.

  16. Taken from Matej Zagar website: Fund for Jernej Kolenko Matej opened a special transaction account intended for voluntary contributions for Jernej Kolenko. As it is known, he has experienced a difficult accident in Prelog, which had prematurely terminated his sport carrier. Matej calls on all to contribute to the fund and help Jernej. Matej said: "I've opened the transaction account where people can, if they wish to, contribute money to Jernej. Because of the accident he can no longer race and he was left without a job and any incomes. So I decided to help him and try to mitigate his position. We have been a strong competitors on the track, but on the other hand, we were also friends. " "In a sign of good will, I already indicated at the expense of 500€, however I expect that others will respond too and contribute to this fund. Jernej has been active number of years and has brought to speedway in Slovenia and other countries many successes. Therefore, it seems to me right, that now we help him. 17. Easyjet flies to Ljubljana from Stansted. Krsko is about an hour drive from Ljubljana.
  18. Forget Croatia, come to Ljubljana! Lovely city with a lot of bars, restaurants and clubs. And better beer!
  19. Slovenian speedway season has finished already, but that doesn't mean that our authorities are resting. I have some good news to report. Following the nasty crash of Jernej Kolenko in April which forced him to retire from speedway racing, all three Slovenian speedway clubs have decided to buy the air fences!!! They will first be installed in Ljubljana, probably in March next year, and Krsko in Lendava will follow in April or May. This obviously means that the safety will increase at our tracks and, hopefully, the air fences will be able to prevent some injuries.
  20. Sandi Conda is new Slovenian junior champion !!! He won the last round staged today in Krsko. Results: 1. Sandi Conda SLO 11 2. Nikola Pigac CRO 10+3 3.
