I see what you mean, but here is an excerpt from FIM rulebook (General Rules for Track Racing): 070.4.6 Substitute rider (...) Any point gained by the substitute rider/sidecar team in replacement of one or more scheduled riders/sidecar teams will count towards the results of the meeting and will also count as points towards the respective on-going Championship, if applicable. Conversely, the points gained by the injured or replaced rider/sidecar team (if any) will also count towards the results of the meeting and the respective on-going Championship, if applicable. A substitute rider/sidecar team cannot ride in more heats per day than a scheduled rider/sidecar team.

AFAIK, reserves' points always count for the final classification and they can also qualify to the next round in FIM and UEM meetings.

Another good news about Jernej today. Doctors have waken him up today in the afternoon! He feels good and doctors also said that his back (2 vertebrae) is NOT broken as it was first feared.
-
Just a quick update on Jernej. He is still in a coma, but he is slowly getting better. They will try to wake him up today or tommorow and then we'll see what happens.
-
Some positive news about Jernej today, here is a message from Jurica Pavlic's sister: He is in coma since the fall, they took him to hospital in Cakovec where they made 2 CT - head scan, which showed no bleading and damage. Helicopter took him today to Ljubljana where he will get the best care. Doctor said today that he's condition is better than yesterday and we all hope and pray that he will be ok soon - with no consequences.

Third round of SLO-CRO-AUT championship that was held today in Prelog (Croatia) was won by Jurica Pavlic, Matej Zagar was 2nd and surprise of the day Aleksander Conda 3rd. Meeting was ruined by a horrific accident of Jernej Kolenko in heat 11. Kolenko and Santej collided and both hit the fence pretty hard. Santej soon got up and walked to the pits but Kolenko was knocked unconscious and later taken to the hospital. The latest news from the hospital is that he is still in a coma and we are now awaiting more positive news about him. Slovenia (where To Stay)

I think that the main station is simply called Ljubljana. There are some smaller stations in the city and in the suburbs, but don't bother with them, just use the main station. -

Slovenia (where To Stay)
tomazpozrl replied to janey2's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes, Euro is now an official currency in Slovenia. So don't try to use Tolars (SIT), because you won't be able to do so anywhere in Slovenia (except for the Slovenian national bank, where you can exchange Tolars for Euros). -
Jernej Kolenko won round 2 of common SLO-CRO-AUT championship in Natschbach. Kolenko was in great form yesterday and won with a full maximum in front of Jurica Pavlic and Matej Zagar. Complete results here: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...1&Itemid=62 Current championship standings here: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...2&Itemid=62 Next round: Prelog (CRO) April 13th

First of all, in Slovenian championship there's no "wages paying". Riders get payed only for the expenses, according to the AMZS rules (around 400 euros for the win etc.). Anyway, Zagar still gets quite a lot of money, but from club sponsors and his personal sponsors. As far as fans are concerned: there were quite a lof of them there in Krsko, at least for the Slovenian championship (around 1500-2000), but they mainly occupied the grandstand and the first corner (between the grandstand and the pits) and cameras didn't show them.

TV show Speedway Mag was launched today on Slovenian sport TV station Šport TV (http://sport-tv.si/). It will cover 21 meetings, which will include ALL Slovenian championship meetings (individual, juniro and team meetings) and also all international and friendly meetings in Slovenia (SWC qualifier in Ljubljana, European championship final in Lendava, UEM junior semifinal in Krsko, SAX Super Cup in Krsko). Speedway Mag will be produced in two formats, a 30 minutes format and in 60 minutes format. The show is produced by OPA agency and will go on air on Wednesday evenings in the week after the meeting. It will also be available on the internet at http://e-speedwaytv.com/. Online version should be published shortly after the TV version goes on air (the first one should be available by tommorow morning). If anyone is interested in some good Slovenian style speedway, check the website and the videos posted there.

Results from Krsko can be seen here: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...6&Itemid=62 It was quite an entertaining meeting. Santej was dominating first part of the meeting, but then suffered an engine failure in his 4th heat while in the lead. Zagar and Kolenko finished regular heats with 13 points each and the winner had to be decided in a run off. Zagar took the lead, but then Kolenko cut to the inside on the first bend and passed Matej. Coming out of the 2nd bend Kolenko left too much space and Zagar flew pass him to take the lead and win. Santej beat Pavlic in a run off for 3rd place. Unluckiest rider of the meeting was definitely Ales Kraljic. He returned to the track after 2 years and was very optimistic but it didn't last even one full lap. In his first heat Austrian rider Johannes Fiala took the lead and Ales followed him down the backstraight. He was obviously quicker than Fiala, but rode too agressively into the 2nd bend, almost hit Fiala and then flew into the fence. Fiala also fell and suffered a broken leg, while first reports from the hospital suggested that Ales suffered a back injury which could put him off the track for at least 3 months.

I don't have any official info on Martinec case but I did hear from Krsko organizers that they didn't know if he will ride on Sunday or not. Apparently Croatians were thinking of giving Nikola a ban because of what happened in Gustrow.

Voldrih first sat on a speedway bike in 2002 (125 ccm bike) and then officially started his career in 2004. He immediatelly showed that he is a prospect but in his first official championship meeting in Krsko he fell and broke his arm, which ruled him out for the season. He came back in 2005 but again he was unlucky with an injury, this time in World U21 team championship in Germany where he suffered a complicated leg injury. Injury problems forced him to rethink about his future in speedway, but luckily he decided to give it another go and is now making a steady progress, especially mentally. In an interview for our website http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...2&Itemid=62 Matic said that his aim this year is to become Slovenian junior champion which is quite optimistic (with his biggest rival Matija Duh in great form). Matic also commented on the U21 meeting in Germany and said that he wants to get in the top 10 and with some luck maybe also qualify for the semifinal.
