  2. I've just received this from the FIM : The International Disciplinary Court (CDI) convened yesterday at the FIM headquarters in Mies, Switzerland, in a public hearing in order to judge the request lodged to the CDI by the FIM Executive Board to impose further sanctions against Danish rider Nicki Pedersen for the offence of bad behaviour against Speedway Grand Prix Race Director Ole Olsen during the running of the Speedway World Cup event held in Reading, Great Britain, on July 22. Present at the hearing were Mr Alexander Gontard, CDI President, and Ole Olsen as witness. Neither Nicki Pedersen nor his team manager Jan Staechmann were present or represented. The CDI took the following decisions: Nicki Pedersen is sanctioned with a fine of CHF 2.000 and a suspension of six months beginning on 1st April 2007 and with respite for a probationary period from 1st April to 1st October 2007, verdict to be executed in case of further offence of bad behaviour. Jan Staechmann was given a warning for not acting in order to stop the incident. The costs of the procedure are to be borne by Nicki Pedersen (2/3) and Jan Staechmann (1/3). The full text of the decision will be published within a few days. An appeal may be lodged against this decision to the TIA within 5 days following the written notification.

  5. Izak Santej won round 3 of Slovenian-Croatian-Austrian champion today in Ljubljana. The meeting was ruined by the weather and had to be stopped and canceled after a heavy downpour after heat 15. Santej won all of his 3 heats, including beating Matej Zagar. Places 2 to 5 were determined by the ballot - Pavlic finished 2nd, Hauzinger 3rd, Kolenko 4th and Zagar only 5th. Zagar is now 1 point behind Santej in current standings. 4th and final round will be held in Gorican on September 30th. Complete results from Ljubljana and current standings can be found here: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...d=561&Itemid=82
  6. Here are the results from international meeting in Lendava, that was held yesterday. It included some riders that also ride in the UK - Matej Zagar won, of course . Results: http://www.speedway.si/index.php?option=co...d=560&Itemid=82 The meeting was stopped after heat 12 due to the heavy rain, but the results stand.

  8. Zagar is not Latvian, but he has ridden there a few times and he loves the place. He even won the European Junior Championship there in 2002, in front of Bjerre, Lindgren, Lindbäck, Kasprzak, Davidssons' etc.

  17. Ok, I've sent an email to a friend of mine, who will be a secretary to the jury in Terenzano. I'll let you know, what he'll tell me. And you owe me a beer in Terenzano .
  18. Have you tried emailing MC Olimpia office at mcolimpia@hotmail.com (or mcolimpia@libero.it ) ? If you are not successful with this email address, I'll try to ask a friend of mine from Italy.
  19. Yes mate, no problem about that. Although I must stress that everything that I wrote is just my personal opinion and not an official comment from AMZS or any other individual.
  20. Yes, that's one thing that also came to our minds after that incident in Lendava. There were only seven countries represented in Lendava and surely a referee from some other place could be found - UEM track racing commission has a swedish and a danish representantive and those countries could provide one referee? I don't think it would be any more expensive for him to come to Lendava than for example Sergej Liatosinski (jury president in Lendava), who came from Ukraine.
  21. I don't think it will change anything, but yes, Slovenian federation AMZS will officially protest at UEM as well as at FIM. AMZS representative has officially protested already at the last jury meeting in Lendava, but Grodzki didn't accept it as official protest, but rather as a personal comment . And as I said, I don't think a protest to the UEM will change anything - UEM track racing comission president is Andrzej Grodzki, Wojciech's father. What do you think he will do?

Rymel, R.Ivanov, Simota, D.Ivanov R What was supposed to be a great meeting and battle for a win between Slovenia and Poland, was ruined by polish GP referee Wojciech Grodzki, who very obviously cheated and helped Poland to win!! He excluded Zagar from heat 10 because of dangerous riding. Zagar tried to pass Magosi out of the 4th bend, but Magosi closed the racing line, so Zagar hit Magosi's rear wheel. Nobody fell, Magosi rode on, Zagar regained control of his bike and also proceeded racing, but the red lights went on and Grodzki excluded Zagar ?!?!?! The crowd went mad, Slovenian team manager Franc Kalin protested, even slovenian motorcycling federation authorities protested, but Grodzki didn't change his mind. Slovenia then needed 4-2 against Poland in heat 20, but Ulamek won that heat and everything was over for Slovenia A really scandalous refereeing from Grodzki!! The strongest speedway countries (except Poland of course) didn't treat UEM meetings as something important in recent years, but from saturday even we in Slovenia will probably join them. There were even some threats from our authorities that Slovenia will not send its riders to UEM meetings anymore. What's the point of competing, if Grodzki family ... oops, I mean UEM , makes everything they want. They might as well give polish riders gold medals before the saturday meeting had even started!
  23. Most of slovenian riders, I think, have some kind of motorsport background, but usually it's just private motorcycling stuff, nothing professional. As far as Zagar and Ferjan are concerned - to be honest, in my opinion there were not "produced", there are just natural talents, who put a lot of effort in their speedway and suceeded. I don't think anyone in Slovenia can take any credits for both Matejs' results, because we simply don't have people (coaches, team managers, experts etc) who are able to help riders on a GP level
