Fim 80cc World Final Warow
tomazpozrl replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
Yes, that's true ! This is his last chance to ride in this competition and he will try to win it. It will be hard against Scandinavians, but Jura has been practising on his home track in Gorican in the last couple of days and is very motivated for this meeting. -
This Years Gp Wild Cards
tomazpozrl replied to Joester's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can tell you that it's not just a rumour ... I don't think that you need an Italian wild card to get big attendance in Lonigo GP. Italians like watching GP riders even if they're not of Italian nationality. And from what I've seen on a couple of ocassions when I was in Lonigo, they also like Zagar very much so ... Plus there's also a connection to Italian boss Armando Castagna, of course ... -

According to this website : http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/kalendar.php there are two meetings in Prague GP weekend - in Pardubice and Mšeno. As it states : "kontrolní závod juniorské reprezentace" - this means : Czech junior teams test matches. According to Pardubice website these are in fact Czech rep. - Poland matches. Mseno website states that the meeting on 9.7. starts at 10 am, but I'm not sure about the meeting in Pardubice on 8.7.

Best 7 qualify from this meeting. By the way - apparently the meeting was another Toninho show !!! He was in a class of his own. Here is the description of the big final from the live updates site : " Miedzinski took lead, Bjerre was 2nd and Lindback 3rd. Lindback was trying very hard to pass the opponents and was almost riding on the fence. And then on the last lap he passed both Bjerre and Miedzinski at the same time !!! FANTASTIC RIDE !!! "

World Cup Qualifiers This Week
tomazpozrl replied to Hazzman's topic in International World of Speedway
I think the reason for this is that it's a team event and every heat involves one rider from each team. Therefore after heat 16 all 4 teams had 16 rides. It's a difference in compare to individual meetings where riders only ride in one out of 4 heats. -

Sure Garf, I have most of the heat times. The track was very quick early on and we also saw two new track records. Zagar's old record was 66.16. Jason Crump was the first to go under 66 seconds in heat 2 (65.94), but then Leigh Adams in heat 3 set a new, amazing, record of 65.61. After heat 8 heat times got constantly worse, and by the end of the meeting, the riders were doing heat times of around 68 + seconds. -

MATEJ ZAGAR was just AWESOME yesterday !!! It was a great night for Matej, Krsko and a whole Slovenian speedway. Matej you made us so proud !!! Here are some photo galleries from Krsko meeting (more to follow) : http://lea.hamradio.si/~s51qa/reportaze/050528_speedway/ http://alan-co.si/robi/SGPKrsko/ http://community.webshots.com/album/355819167kzxUUi http://www.windkiller.com/fotogalerija/thu...ls.php?album=43 -

The track was pretty deep and grippy yesterday at the practice. And from what I heard Olsen didn't have much comment on that. Surely it won't be as grippy today, but the organizers told me that it won't be so slick as it was last year.
-
I don't have official practice times, but according to Slovenian team manager Crump, Adams and Rickardsson were the quickest in yesterday's practice in Krsko. Nicki P. and Jonsson were also very fast, as were Lindback and Bjerre. Zagar didn't do anything special yesterday, because he was using a practice bike. The two "rockets" (as he called them), engines that he will be using today are ready for the race and he didn't test them yesterday. He practised with them on this track a fortnight ago and he also very successfully used them in the international meeting in Hungary last week (beating Crump, Holta, Bajerski, Chrzanowski etc). GO MATTY !!!!
