Berwick v Glasgow CL 22/06/24 7-00pm
Fromafar replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The straights at Berwick are not narrow the entrance to the bends we’re widened a few seasons ago but unfortunately has not made much difference as there really is only one fast line into the bends(unless your Chris Harris who is just awesome round Shielfield). Most of the decent riders can ride the track and if are in the lead they are going that fast overtaking is at a premium.IMO. The racing line these days is on about metre from the fence it’s daredevil stuff to overtake.IMO.The track is FIM approved. -
Some strong hints there Dick.

Would agree, track is one line, apart from Harris who is different League round Berwick one pass after back straight from Kemp is your lot. -
Hume had been very disappointing away and Etheridge is his usual injury prone self.
-
Would agree not a lot but got away with it.
-
Kemp has done “his bit “this season IMO.
-
The Starting Marshal should bring them nearer the Tapes.Take leaf out of Polish Speedway virtually no rolling and much more tighter control riders bike position and nearer tapes. Riders ignore the Starting Marshal over here and ge away with it too much.

Think it’s pretty obvious to Berwick fans that Kemp and Etheridge are not a good pairing.Hence why he chanced Jye at 5 he is meant to be our 3rd Ht Leader. -

At least he tried something, don’t think it made any difference to end result. When you have a No5 who needs replaced in Ht13 you are in trouble anyway. -

Hagon had beat Jye and Flint in Ht 9 though.Dont really see why replacing Jye in Ht13 is an issue Hagon was riding well. -

Ht8 wasn’t a programmed ride for Garrad he replaced Hume tape infringement don’t know if the means he needs another ride. -
What’s the problems with Atkins is it the injury
-
Not my cup of tea at BSN but can’t see him doing much if he returned to the track.

You have to Question Fricke commitment to Leicester when you watch him in Poland and GPs.Must be on some sort of guarantee. He turns up though. -

You do get out of the routine. There needs to be a weekly fix to keep interest.Danger of fans drifting away. -
Clubs seem reluctant too use there alternate night for postponed meetings.

Oxford vs Poole 19th June Championship
Fromafar replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surely it’s still a scheduled fixture if a result wasn’t declared though. Its still to take place. -
It does take the edge of the season for fans .2-3 weeks without a meeting then another gap in another couple of weeks in the height of summer.! Not good planning IMO
