  1. Grigory Laguta must be a bit miffed, unless he didn't want a wild card, he has been very consistent in League racing for a few years now. Good luck to Tai, hope he does well.
  2. He was lucky in that instance, but it is all part of professional sport, makes it all the more dramatic, I thought the whole GP was superb
  3. Sorry, Chris Holder got away with one there, he straightened up going into the corner and then hit Pedersen broadside, nicki has a tendency to turn left on people who are level or even in front of him, but this time he was the wronged party. Still, he has probably cried wolf too often on that sort of crash so he only has himself to blame if he doesn't get the decision, and the clapping gestures are a bit stupid, I remember him trying to put Holder and Hancock into the stands at Cardiff last year! Quite what the Holder entourage were all about either is pretty poor, Crumpie was the only guy to come out of it with credit calming Holder down. However, all made great sporting theatre!!!!!
  4. Speedway won't get coverage until there is a genuine UK contender to win. Then I believe they will cover it more, especially with some proper PR behind him. Moto GPvgets little if any paper coverage, I bet very few people know what Cal Crutchlow looks like outside of Moto GP fans, as he isnt in the hunt to win. The BBC give the Moto GP series the same coverage sky gives our GP series, but the national press give it nothing as well.
  5. The only thing missing is a UK challenger for the title.
  6. That was my fourth British GP and I loved it, the atmosphere around and inside the stadium, thought the racing was pretty decent, and Keith Flint was there! Don't tell me speedway isn't cool! As a sporting spectacle, it is still pure theatre and one of the best live nights of sport around.
  7. Chris Morton is designing the track I think, basing it on the old Hyde Road shape, but a little smaller. Given his gating ability, I am hoping it will be a real racers track
  8. It will be moving to Manchester pretty soon, not long now!!!
  9. Why no Andersen or Bjerre? Out of form or didn't want to race?
  10. Wouldn't it be better to develop our own Zmarlik or Dudek??
  11. Laguta, Ward, Hampel plus Vaculik are the 4 worthy picks, although visas may screw Laguta chances
  12. I am afraid it is news, the same happened with Simoncelli last year and the F1 drivers of previous years. Respect never comes into it when selling newspapers.
  13. But these guys are the best we have, Woffinden is the most talented in my opinion now, but we are well sort of other countries in terms of rider development. Russia are kicking out better riders now
  14. It sounds like you have a complete product range. My business has dabbled in sponsorship in other sports in the past, and if it is any consolation, many are a lot worse than speedway in looking after sponsors. In summary, all sports take sponsors for granted, it is an epidemic
  15. On the basis that 50,000+ turn up for Wembley (the only reason you would move from Cardiff is if Wembley gets more people to go), then you will find that prices for London hotels are comparable to Cardiff.
  16. To rent the stadium and build a track at Wembley would be a huge financial outlay, and a massive risk. Wembley rental cost is a lot higher than Millennium, and so no-one is going to take that risk. It is easy for us to say why dont "they" do it, but would you risk £1 mllion on it? The only chance for a second GP would be around 2015 or 2016 in Manchester. Cardfiff and Lonodn arent that different time wise for Midlands and Northern fans driving down there. Plus, its once a year, get over it. It is a great day out, just enjoy the fact that we are able to watch top class speedweay in a fantastic facility, better than any other stadium the GP's are raced in. It's the one every rider wants to win, ask Gollob!
  17. What is the attendance at Cardiff? 45,000? That is more than most sporting events in the UK. Yes it can be improved, but I cant see it getting to 72,000 sell outs. Would be interested to know what Superbikes and MotoGp attendances are?
  18. Why is everyone bothered about spicing up a practice session? It's just that, practice, if its boring to watch, go to a bar instead, or have a look around (or if at Vojens, dont get there until saturaday!)
  19. Is it confirmed they are? I havent seen anything.
  20. So the 1 GP rider is just in Extraliga? Strange, a league 1 team might end up the strongest!!
  21. It's a different format, but the GP system definitely makes it fairer for those competing. You have to prove you are the best over the whole season, so I like it as a format.
  22. If the World Cup is to be a financial success, then the host nation has to be involved. This is a good move, and will save the World Cup as a viable competition.
