  1. We definitiely need a second GP in the UK, especially as most GP riders won't be in the EL as the money dries up.
  2. Given that he is wearing kevlars and a helmet most of the time at a speedway track, you can't see them so what's the problem.
  3. It was good to see a speedway rider interviewed on bbc breakfast tv, it doesn't happen very often and minority sports rarely get that level of coverage ever. So enjoy it for what it was. Will it turn speedway back into the place it was in the 1930's, when you seemed to be a speedway fan, no it won't. Could it be the start if getting speedway mentioned a little more on the bbc? Maybe, if the BSPA get their PR act together.
  4. Gustix explained it to me so I am now enlightened
  5. Well at least the BBC are showing some interest in the sport, even if fleetingly. It shows that a good news story will be picked up if your PR team are good enough and work hard enough. BUT, you have to chase them, they wont come to you unless you are in one of the major sports. The BSPA should now start work on a media campaign to promote the beginning of the 2014 season so they can get some momentum. I doubt they will though, which is the shame. Is it just me that doesnt understand this?
  6. Vic Duggan and Ron Johnson had charisma and Tai Woffinden doesnt? Dixie Dean, he had charisma, not like that plank Ronaldo dear oh dear
  7. I am sure he is, it's just that I don't think he has ever been to BV. Maybe it should have been better promoted as a BV development team, where we are looking at future talent, still they scored well so maybe there are a couple of nuggets there.
  8. My point is that a BV team should have some BV riders in it
  9. I haven't heard of half our team, what's the point, most of them won't ride for Belle Vue again. Should have used assets like R Worrall, Hougaard to make it a bit more interesting. Is Tabaka a speedway rider?
  10. I think you will find BV wanted it over as soon as they could.
  11. Riders don't seem to move over anymore if someone is coming on their inside. Whilst I hope NKI is ok, I thought he turned left on Harris in heat 15, Harris was in front and hadn't moved off the kerb. A few crashes have been like that
  12. Broken vertebrae so Torun won't ride until next June whilst they wait for his return. Still that's ok, Matt Ford doesn't run Torun.
  13. Could you imagine this forum if Poole pulled a stunt like that. But it's just a sad day for Polish speedway, rather than the end of speedway as a whole. There is more moaning about the quality of the streaming video than the fact the away team didn't turn up to the play off final. Sorry but Polish league speedway IS a joke if they get away with that. Imagine Man U not turning up to the derby match yesterday because Van Persie is injured. Nice stadium or no nice stadium, they should be kicked out.
  14. It's good when the away team turn up. Twice this season, they haven't.
  15. I wonder if Wolverhampton will do the same tomorrow, possibly not even though Woffy won't be there
  16. Given he died 50 years ago and people still talk about him and the Belle Vue promotion still run a memorial meeting, must have been some rider.
  17. No I don't know you, but apologies, I shouldn't have said that
  18. Sweden and Poland will only have 8 teams each in their top leagues next year, no Brit except Woffinden will get a look in!
  19. The room you feed your mother in Is the fact that speedway crowds don't double up watching polo events a problem for you? Or don't the C and below deserve the right to watch live sport?
  20. Well it's a dead sport, it deserves to be wiped off the face of the planet... Some day we will be all as cool as you and have our rocking chair in the attic ......
  21. Matej Zagar has said he used to hate KIrky Lane but now he enjoys it as he has learnt which lines to ride and the surface is a lot smoother now. I doubt that tracks intimidate riders so much these days, but knowing set ups and racing lines is what gives the home advantage. I think though that this year has seen more close matches than most years, so maybe the home advantage is less relevant now?
