  1. Formula 1 just announced double points for the last GP of 2014 !!!!!!!!! Empty stadiums all season then What sport can end all go and watch now and not be ridiculed, footballers throwing matches, cricket has so many formats and players playing for different teams in different countries, darts? Oh no, 2 World championships in that one! And now F1 has double points to try and stop Vettel winning yet again. Maybe we aren't so bad after all
  2. You presumably think it is the same for Sweden and Poland then as they have similar rules?
  3. Well off you go to Poland then. I just hope the away team turns up for you. Half the population are over 50 and have the disposable income, so it is s good part of the market to attract. 20 somethings rarely attend sporting events on a regular basis
  4. It's going for planning permission by this year end apparently
  5. I liked her much more often than that I thought you were glad you were watching PL speedway? Does seem daft though to choose your last 3 opponents. If it is so necessary to do it at all, do it by geography, not as you say, to pick up points off the worst team.
  6. I am afraid you won't see her around the pits in Glasgow! Glad you like it though! I am afraid you won't see her the pits in Glasgow! Glad you like it though!
  7. Pretty close, the 2 reserves are from a pool of young GB riders, not necessarily NL riders.
  8. Well good for you, I will be watching and enjoying my speedway at Belle Vue, a British League team.
  9. It's funny, on here everyone talks in glowing terms about the Torun super team, even though it is the same club that refused to race last year's final. Then we get the Vetlanda super team, with its 2 young Swedish reserves. Now, imagine that the Torun team was Poole, then it would be the death of speedway in the UK, Ford chequebook ruining the league, nobody's going to go anymore, etc etc. As for Vetlanda, well how stupid is that, Sayfutdinov against some wobbling junior (I know they aren't ), what's the point of that.... But of course it is Sweden and Poland, so it must be the right thing to do
  10. Well hopefully now, PL teams will follow the lead of the EL sides and guarantee places for UK lads to race in this country.
  11. What the promoters are doing is recreating what the Poles did a few years ago, and now they have half the field in the world u21. Yet people come on here and moan about watered down product. Watered down from what exactly? Teams where the only British involvement was the name of the team? This now gives British riders the opportunity to race in the top league in this country. It gives them the starting point to then develop further in the PL, which has become a dumping ground for European journeyman speedway riders and not a development league for up and coming British riders. The top riders can still be accommodated, and apart from Emil and Hampel, who really is missing that you would want to see on a week to week basis? The only thing that will drive these guys away is an increase to 36 meetings, but more regular speedway that is what we wanted wasn't it? Or should we blindly expect all the top guys to ride twice as often for half the money because "we" deserve it. Now everyone are going to pick their meetings this year, because they don't want to watch the young Brits anymore, they want their European journeymen and guests back. What we need is a league that breeds UK equivalents of Dudek, Sayfutdinov, etc, and this is a step in the right direction.
  12. Sounds like he wants paying more for racing the sports top event, and quire right too, he gets more (if they had paid him!) for scoring 7 points in a Polish league match than for winning a GP...ridiculous
  13. So Emil seems to be pointing out quite rightly that competing in the GP series doesn't make them any money, for which the FIM should be ashamed.
  14. Surely Alun Rossiter is the best option? Neil Middleditch lost it for me when he couldn't persuade Nicholls to ride and chose Kennett ahead of King. Then dropped Cook for Barker. Series of bad decisions. I am sure they were made with the best intentions, but were shown to be plain wrong.
  15. I am led to believe it goes in for planning permission before Xmas this year. There is a basketball arena as part of this as well as speedway I think.
  16. If I was the FIM, I would have a Europan Championshups which formed the European qualifiers for the GP Challenge. The American champion should get a GP Challenge slot and the top 3 from the Australian Championship. That makes those national championships mean something and the top guys would enter them.
  17. Craig cook can't get a ride in Sweden, the clubs are nearly full already and Craig has a high average to slot into a Swedish team. It is very easy for people on here to say "oh he should get a team in Sweden, Poland, Timbuktu etc, but it is a lot easier said than done. Both Sweden and Piland now have half the team places allocated for Home riders. So get off his back and the BSPA should take Screamers idea and allocate days of the week for EL (mon, wed, some fri) and the other days for PL. then you can do both easily without conflict. Rocket science...... Mmmmm........ No So does he, but at the moment, he can't get a ride in Sweden.
  18. Problem on the stadium front is most of them don't own them so can't improve them. Coventrys is up for sale, doesn't the Swindon owner want to sell that stadium too? But you are right, if the stadia were better, the crowds would be significantly better, I am certain of that.
  19. My opinion, there will be no tv for UK speedway next season. Gospeed will put it on speedway tv as a subscription feed. As for the rest of this thread, you are just repeating what you have been saying for months. You may be right but do you have to keep posting the same points on numerous threads?
  20. So a couple of small time radio presenters don't like speedway, big deal. Won't put anyone off going.
