  1. Oldace hopes that is the case, he wants speedway in the UK to disappear so that himself and Moxey63 can be the last 2 posters on this forum posting " I told you so" to each other.
  2. Agree about Emil but Ward doesn't deserve that, a smashed shoulder blade is a bad injury
  3. Sometimes it is difficult to make the right call when a faster rider is crawling all over you. He did the same to Pedersen in the semi final. On his day, the 21st century Peter Collins
  4. After an iffy start this is a pretty good GP again. Gollob, what a heat 1 The girls are particularly impressive too
  5. It does look somewhat empty? Why wouldn't the Swedish fans travel to Gothenburg?
  6. David Beckham singing the Swedish anthem, who says he's thick!!
  7. Presentation is the single biggest issue this sport faces in the UK. The GP is great for that, the EL isn't
  8. They were frightened Eddie Kennett might have won it That isn't a bad idea You are right, he is, so I don't get the another nail in the coffin crap that others are coming up with. The Polish Champion doesn't get seeded, the Swedish one doesn't, but any old excuse to moan again. The British Final riders will still want to win just as much as before. The EL riders final has nothing at stake apart from pride, but it didn't stop Rory putting himself in hospital trying to win it!
  9. I think it was a requirement for the council, rather like the national BMX centre down the road.
  10. Lead singer of the Prodigy at Cardiff last year so speedway can be cool !!!!!!!!
  11. Regarding Belle Vue v Wolves, took a mate and his lad to the races for the first time and they enjoyed it, loved the sheer speed and the first corners and the fact that the match score was so close. However, the only reason they knew the score was because I was telling them and showing them, the presentation to build up how close the match itself was, far far too low key !!!!
  12. I think it is down to a winning team and a good race night presentation. Neither of which we have right now!
  13. I hope that the financing includes a cover for the track!
  14. I hope this is a catalyst for maybe the local authorities in Dudley and Bristol to look at what is happening here and engage with the promotions to do something similar in their cities. If successful, it can be the start of something bigger for speedway in the UK.
  15. Since when have the double points for the final been removed? Was that publicised?
  16. If the BSPA agree to a rights free deal year by year, then maybe sky would keep the EL on. At the end of the day, if they are the only game in town, then speedway on tv has to be better than none The thought of those two disappearing from the forum would almost make it worth not having speedway on tv at all! They are the grumpy old pair from the muppets
  17. I wouldn't look very hard to find old ace or moxey63, that is for certain
  18. Rugby League struggled to get a title sponsor, and I think the deal they did with Stobart involved publicity on the trucks more than any payment for the title rights. Maybe speedway should give something like that a go?
  19. that is why successful teams should not be forced to be broken up. they shoud be prevented from getting stronger, but breaking up successful sides only harms the attendences of that track, it doesnt make more go to other tracks.
  20. Very few professional sports clubs regularly make money. Poole have in the recent past, but with all the rain offs and loss of sponsors, they may have to cut back in the future unless they can secure replacement sponsorship this season. It's a fact of life and in the current economic situation many clubs will face an uphill battle to keep/find sponsors. If sky pullout of EL sponsorship at the end of the season, then the whole face of British speedway will change, and we may not see the Holders or Wards on the UK as clubs won't be able to afford them, and the entire sport will go back to a PL standard. It probably will survive, but would have to rebuild itself.
  21. And here we go again, the man who will happily dance on the grave of British Speedway, whilst wearing his memorabilia like a crazed villain from Silence of the Lambs. Moxey you are priceless, I bet you are a FC United of Manchester fan convinced that the Glasers are the antichrist!
  22. good luck to the guy, hope he finishes top 6 and gives British speedway a real lift
