Bydgoszcz Grand Prix
colincooke replied to pedropete's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Disrespectful as the interveiwee didn't understand & he still continued when requested to speak English. Don't get me wrong, i couldn't give a toss about Steve Brandon but on Sky Sports the veiwers are mainly English speaking. To another point why do commentators continue to apologise for foul language, it's Sky that are directing the show, Brandon that is telling the cameraman what to do, so for instance as with last night when Crumpie came in from a last place, what do they expect to hear him say, oh yippee!!. -
Bydgoszcz Grand Prix
colincooke replied to pedropete's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bydgoszcz was at 1 time the GP everybody includingthe riders looked forward to, but thanks to the ubergolem Olsen it is not as good as it once was. That said, fairly enjoyable & agree that Gollob blew it,very didsrespectful of him to interveiw in Polish& what was said i take it was partly a swipe at nicki given the crowd reaction to him. Good on Nicki for biting back. Great to see a Brit in the final & Scott is close to nailing #8. Would definitely have been there if KK & Jagus hadn't allowed Holta by in their race. I'll be at Lonigo & i can't wait now. -
England V Australia At Under 23 Level!
colincooke replied to Trees's topic in International World of Speedway
2)Must've been busy yapping when that happened matey . Looked like yet another dummy out of pram Bridger episode, but fair do's if he was hard done by, as i said he does need a calming influence, desperately. 1) Riders do have incidents at Monmore very often,& mostly there down to rider error, Jesper didn't make an error on that bend the track caused him to pull a locker, same with Tai the track, in the same spot, caused him to lose control, luckily he slid mid track & Cam was able to take evasive action. Food for thought. Did we see a future Wolves pairing get a 5-1 in 8? Now there's a novelty -
England V Australia At Under 23 Level!
colincooke replied to Trees's topic in International World of Speedway
A fairly enjoyable affair this one, with alot of the boys on both sides giving it their all. A pity Tai lost his way a little toward the end, but to his credit a classy performance in his 1st 3, interesting that he came down in the same spot as Jesper B a few weeks ago, seems there's a bit of a problem with that patch. James Wright was quietly affective. Eddie did a hell of a lot to help Ben out. Ben himself was his usual gutsy self Bridger was great when he was in control but otherwise useless, Lewis was superb on this track not too long ago & needs to learn to calm down, what he was whinging about after his 2nd ride god knows. Josh & Joe did all that was expected of them. For the Aussies Cam Woodward was the best on show, Troy was good but Cam was better & i personally felt cheated that Troy wasn't in 15. Very impressed again with Ty Proctor. Not alot more to say there except that Sweetman is one for the future. So all there is to add is 1-0 to the ENGERLAND. -

Agree with all of this SB. Both got excluded cos Olsen as per usual made a right pig's ear of it in the interval, no fault of their own, should have both been allowed back in. The guy is a menace. -

Thanks for that J D. Standing tickets have now been ordered. From what little i can understand on the order e-mail, i'm presuming that tickets are collected from the ticket-office rather than posted to you, is this correct?

Myself & a freind will be staying in San Bonifacio at the Stadio Albergo. 35 Euro's a night is a very good price. I've never been to Lonigo before & am looking forward to it. Stadium tickets have not been acquired as yet so can anyone tell me where the best spots for standing or seating are.

Another Crap Ref Lol
colincooke replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
True Jacques he was, but had he won that, which was possible given his opponents we're just as much so 7 with a win would,ve put in a possible semi place given what Tomek did. Chris as well was truly inept & just looking at him racing he seemed so tense & upright on the bike compared with the rest. Well done to our new star, Hans Norgaard Andersen. The guys manner is so much more relaxed now he's got the monkey off his back. -
Another Crap Ref Lol
colincooke replied to Trees's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This ref was booted out in 1999, why bring him back, he's even more inept than that idiot Wojaczek, the decision in Heat 17 was the worst i've ever seen in 37 years as a Speedway fan. Why can't the F.I.M find anyone with even a single braincell? -
What Do You Expect On Thursday
colincooke replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Got to agree with you Chris, tbh Richardson didn't even look part of the team, all the rest we're mucking in including Danny King & James Wright but Lee looked a lonely disconsolate figure, not what you need when everything needs to be right. Measure that with young Tai,we should be proud of this young boy. Kennett isn't my favourite rider tbh but i think he was a tad unlucky tonight & we could have seen more from him if he hadn't made that error in his 2nd ride. Alot better from Chris & Scott too, some pridre has ben restored but unfortunately it wasn't quite enough for a place in the final, IF Lee had done his job maybe it could have been a different story. Their is alot to build on for 2009, their are some riders whose time at this level is possibly over, for others it is just begining, just nurtured it correctly B.S.P.A, handouts from guys like John Clarke of Builbase are very welcome i'm sure but you guys should be dipping into your own pockets. -
Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July

You can all argue as much as ya like but the fact remains that the Danes whinged to get what they wanted cos in practice They we're the crap riders. -
Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
colincooke replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The track yes, the surface no. It's typical of the Danes to whinge & get what they want. In practice track was deep & grippy & the Brits we're flying as was AJ. Danes whinge, Olsen says jump,Meredith jumps, slick surface, i call it cheating what about you. Only from Heat 16 to 20 last night was the track a bit grippier when the drizzle fell & at that point there was a small improvement in Team GB scoring, coincidence, i think not. -

Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
colincooke replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This is all i will say about what occured yesterday. It's plain & simple really Team GB are not good enough against the likes of Denmark/Poland /Sweden/Australia. The reason goes back 20 years as Kelvin Tatum, a man who knows a thing or 2 about how it was back then clearly points out in the race mag. Since those days British promoters haven't nurtured our youngsters as they should do, haven't put the incentives in at that level, haven't trained them out of their bad habits. Simon Stead is a classic case here, do you think he would still be locking up & losing momentum if that habit had been nurtured out of him 10 years ago. Joe Screen is another example, at 16 he was considered to be Britain's next World Champion, but what happened, he wasn't properly coached toward that aim so failed. The B.S.P A need to look at themselves collectively & take responsibility for their failures in this area, it's the reason Peter Oakes resigned. We do have natural talent now at Under 15 level but they need the proper training to get to the top, as do our Under 21's such as Tai, Adam Roynon, Joe Haines etc. Sort it out B.S.P.A. As for our immediate chances. Well as far this years final goes there nil. -
