Brilliant news. I do wonder, however, if Louis & Lee had to agree to the same conditions asked of Mr Ribbons. If not, another strike against the corrupt BSPA. Great to hear the Fen Tigers roar in '11, though.
It really is time that someone sought a meeting with the ACU and nailed down exactly whether they approve of what's going on in speedway this winter. If they are aware of what's transipred I can't believe for a second they're happy. Of course, it could be that they're so giddy with glee at the way things are run that they can afford to be nonchalant about the enforced loss of 3 tracks this winter...
Malcolm, is there any prospect of you getting all the relevant NL promoters/managers together in a pub/restaurant/greasy spoon and thrashing something out so it only has to be ratified by the BSPA as a whole?
At the same time, how hard can it be to get 10 people in a room together and agree some rules in principle? 42.5 point limit, no foreigners, ride home & away, have a cup and a 4TT. Sorted.

It would seem to me that a better way would be:
1 GP every year - Poland, Sweden, GB, Denmark
plus 1 GP every four years - Poland, Sweden, GB, Denmark
1 GP every other year - Czech Republic, Germany
1 GP every three years - Italy, Russia, Slovenia
1 GP every four years - Finland, Latvia, Austria, Norway
That's only 8, I realise!
That makes no sense - so if Denmark didn't have Parken or we didn't have the Millennium, we could have two as well? Surely it just gives an advantage to riders who prefer the bigger tracks of Poland and eastern Europe, although it doesn't seem to help Swedes much.
What was wrong with the old TS rule? That being, if your team is 6 points or more down you can replace either of your riders in the next race with one of the others. Each rider can only have one TS ride and none of this double points malarkey!
Well, it's speedway on the TV! You always live in hope that there'll be some good racing, and there mostly is, but I find both the cult of personality around individual riders at the expense of team racing, and the mostly one-sided competition (how many times have we had a runaway winner?) to be horrible in extremis. Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy, but I much preferred the old system, despite its flaws.
Some good racing despite a terrible track. I rarely get excited by Grands Prix and tonight was no exception. The whole circus is just dull, dull, dull.
