  1. Not the end of the world. Think track was not condusive to good racing and only got slicker as meeting went on. Actually think matic is ok speed wise just needs to gate. Alex is stepping up a notch and actually showing more the form i had expected in past years. Bit bad luck with falls and machinery or imo we probably would have won. But why didnt they just put bit water on track when they realised wss getting too slick for home team.
  2. Never noticed that. still think s masters would be good choice for sunday. I see we have matej kus provisionally booked for saturday. I personally would have looked for a guest utilising the full point value for ben. However matej i sure wont let us down.
  3. Well since ben out for a few weeks we gonna have to use guests. I personally would like danny king for saturday and sam masters for ashfield on sunday. It is never a good thing having to use guest riders but the two i have suggested would hopefully give a similar point tally as ben would. And can i just add hopefully ben back fit sooner than later
  4. I could be wrong but thought it wss on the website in the meeting report. I have read it somewhere that he had broken heel of hand and surgeon saying four weeks but he wants back sooner. If it not the website havent a clue where i read it lol
  5. Well can only say pleasantly surprised with the team. Hopefully ben not too badly hurt.matic imo will do ok if tonight anything to go by. 2 points but always on the pace just gating leyting him down. Barker, vissing and doolan all looking fired up and ready jorgenson rode really well . alex best i have seen him ride and luke not far off pace. Hopefully they keep this up.
  6. hopefully fans will give both matic and luke a bit of time to settle before making judgements. Luke is young and hasnt actually been riding speedway for that long. our slovenian rider might be 27 but for all i know he could have only started when he was 25. Simply saying this as dont actually know anything about him. Lol As long as they get a chance to prove how good or bad they are before the knives come out.
  7. I said it was crazy to let nikki barret go to worky before we had sorted out a team. Looks even dafter now as he scored 6+1 against redcar. Hopefully i am proved wrong and our reserves can score similar.
  8. If we keep allen on 7 points this would leave 19.5 points for four riders. Imo would be best using alex and three solid riders on five points . Probably get shouted down here but the likes of jari makkinen 4.5 tero aarnio 5.54 plus another . Makkinen would be good reserve with three or four riders swapping at reserve. The likes of tero normally would pick up 7-8 points at home . I know didnt have grwat time at glasgow but was only brought in at end of season. Even if not aarnio and makkinen the idea i think would help cover allen on 7.
  9. If allen say for example dropped to four it would allow a change in reserve with a stronger rider coming in replacing a reserve and allen then dropping to reserve. Or changing an under performing rider in main team.
  10. I would still give allen a try even on 7 .let him find his true average then strenthen if need be. It is possible he could hold his average i for one dont know. For all we know could be better than it.
  11. Not overly cocerned but even the usual rumour mill / jungle telegraph seems devoid of any thoughts on rest of team. Many of the others teams already completed and as such the choice of riders are getting slimmer ( not neccesarilly poorer ) . Maybe all is well and deals are done but even the bandits website hasnt been updated since before matej was signed by redcar. Even if no riders signed yet would be good to keep updating fans whether just to say we are speaking to riders etc.
  12. The point i was making is that no club in any other sport has anyone on a lifetime contract. In the example you use football. Players generally sign for a fixed term of say three years they then after that are freevto go wherever they want. However in the three years they can play for the club or go on loan or the club can sell them but they are still paid for the whole three years whether picked to play or not. In speedway a riders joins a club and if the club dont use him they dont pay him . Therefor imo no longer under contract. My idea goes same as football fixed term contract if not used can be loaned or sold but at end of contract freedom to move. However say you bring a young rider through to pl level from junior when they move a compensation figure is paid as happens in football with u21 players. If all the riders got together and organised themseves they atvthe end of day could push changes through. They had an organisation at one time think remember shane parker had something to do with it
  13. This whole asset thing probably wouldnt stand up in a court of law. The riders are self employed and are contracted to a club. But in what other walk of life could you not be paid/ used by club the following year but still be contracted to them and they decide whether you make a living or not . Riders should be signed on a determind time related contract 1 or 2 years then free to move on or sign on again. If not required for say second year they get released from there contract. Thats how it would happen in the real world but forgot speedway is a micky mouse club run by people detatched from reality.
  14. I differ in my opinion. I would keep matej snd lose kevin if that is the option the promotion choose . Simply imo i think matej can still improve his average . Whilst i think kevin will not. Happy for both to be in team with branford at reserve. If just one kept it then give us choice to go with two five pointers and alex. This possibly the stronger option as will take time for jake allen to settle in i expect. Have had some good reports on him and by mid season think could be exceding his initial average .
  15. I personally would be happy with kus edberg branford but would possibly look for another asset on 7 points. Kevin i just think will struggle to hold his average could be wrong. I still think kus and edberg can up their average and branford did ok the short time he rode at berwick.
  16. At the present time there are quite a few teams who havent announced riders so not overly worried about team. However it is bit daft trying to sell season tickets etc without knowing who you are going to watch. I dont actually buy one anyway but if i did it would be like going to a shop and paying out for a blank box without knowing the contents. Hopefully riders will be announced sooner rather than later.
  17. If we havent got a team sorted out i personally think its crazy allowing the likes of nicki barret to sign for workington . I personally would have had him and alex as reserves. David being allowed to go to sheffield i can understand but nicki on a low average would have made sense at reserve . Unless the promotion has a better plan
  18. Not the point . You only earn more if you have the same amount of fans through turnstiles . If admission was say your twenty pound figure i personally would be unable to go and many others would be in the same position. Therfor you wont earn more as crowd levels decrease. As i said previously a sensible compromise needs to be reached but no matter what the product has to be value for money in individual persons minds. Truthfully i dont think it would be worth twenty pound entertainment wise . But that just my opinion. A small increase to £15 i feel is justifyed.
  19. Heres sn idea why not set up an assosiate member scheme . Over 52 weeks at £10 standing order. With members getting free admission. Club gets 520 each year and spread cost for people on lower income. Both parties gain.
  20. All this talk of increased admission fee etc. I am a fervent fan but i struggle on my wages to afford the 14 perhaps i should stop taking my grandkids and buying them food and things from the track shop. Then i can afford twenty pounds hower you lose two future fans. A sensible compramise has to be reached if people like myself are not to be priced out of going.
  21. At the minute i would like to say the same . However as of yet i havent actually heard anything to get excited over. Bspa conference ...nahTeam announcment ...nah Xmas . Yep Oops found something to get excited aout
  22. Whether berwick riders or workt riders wanted to ride track or not it is the referee whi makes the decision. Yes teams can complain / protest but at the end of day it his decision. I can remember a meeting at berwick where the teack was heavy to say the least and am certain it was exeter who were there. They complained about track and the ref in his opinion said track fine . As a consiquence exeter riders were excluded in every race on the two minute rule:as they stayed in puts and berwick riders came out for rest of meeting to score 5-0 . So if meeting yesterday was abandined due to track conditions this was referees decision.
  23. Bit quick off mark for 2015, but since here will voice my opinion for what it worth. Vissing worth keeping Bellego probably needs a year away . Think has stagnated a bit. Doolan done what he was brought in to do but would look at change here. Kus keep . Proved he is a quality rider and has got his confidence back. Not number 1 but decent heat leader 3 or 5. Wethers been good for club and done all expected but one i would lose. Edberg looks better and still improving keep. Jensen been stunning at times and poor at times. But overall worth keeping. Only prob is equipment i think seems to have one bike not as good as other. So thats four riders Vissing Kus Edberg Jensen I would consider couple of existing assets if available and commited Barret Alden Possibly even pepe but commitment must be there. Was going to suggest berge but as i come from glasgow originally and still go up road i cant afford paulco and gang taking out a contrat on me. Lol
  24. Tero aarnio signed for glasgow and riding at worky fri glasgow sunday. His average fits for rye and knows track well enough.
  25. Imo if all seven got a good meeting at yhe same time we could build a big enough lead in a final over two legs to not have to worry even if going to somerset or armadump.
