  1. have every faith in matej. if you look at updates it even says kus had bike problems. spoke to matej saturday and he wssnt happy with bike then but still scored average. persoally like kevin but wouldnt have been my choice as number 1. i would have looked for new seven pointer. but this the team we have and as such we win as team and lose as team. you forget these riders get paid on points scored none of them are not trying there hardest . david had worse meeting than both kus and doolan sat claus bad one sunday. thats life. if kus or doolan hadnt scored the points they did sat we would have lost the meeting. so if you going to say we lost due to them you also have to say we won because of them saturday.
  2. decent meeting. steen jensen finally showing what he can do. thought when we went six points down that was it but credit to the team they dug in and turned it round.
  3. as for winning teams we have had four meeting so far . won two reasonably convincingly. lost away to monarchs (not that unusual ) lost a tight meeting at home against monarchs. who incidentaly beat worky home and away also. so at the moment my opinion is no panic.
  4. in all honesty edinburgh are probably the toughest test we gonna have all season. always expected close meeting . yes we struggled at reserve which we cant afford with the way the team built but come on its only the second home meeting of the year give the guys a chance. instead of critical comments . i am biased re matej kus as he is a mate and i know he is capable of much better and expect him to improve . liam had unbelievable meeting against redcar and it was a reality check last night . he is a young guy learning his trade and will be good some meetings poor others. steen jensen has only been on berwicks track for probably a total of twenty min. 2 meetings and a practise. the others doing roughly what expected if anything david possibly not as quick as last year. but give them all time
  5. thought was good work out for bandits . redcar might have had off day but at the end off the day was still impresssed by the overall team performance of bandits. a few kinks to iron out still but thats what these challenge matches are all about.
  6. in my humble opinion top half of table and with bit of luck top four. we have a team where two riders should hold there average ( kevin and matty ) and the others could all increase. i dont know enough about steen jensen to say whether he is going to be a match winner or not though. matej kus to me could be the rider to get the biggest increase in average if he back to his best. knowing matej well he has told me he is really looking forward to the new season.
  7. and here was me thinking scott and taffy would be walking onto centre green holding hand saying how much they admired each other. but normality resumed . lol
  8. having spoke to matej i know he himself feel that its time to get back to the rider i andany others know he is. last year for him was not good injuries . events in argentina etc ok these are excuses but imo valid ones. i think having seen him and known him for many years he is capable of realistically putting one to one and a half on his average and winning a fair few heat 15 races if picked . my main hope this year for all riders from all teams is to svoid the major injuries that deem prelevant the last few years. we know tiders are going to have the odd broken bone . its part of racing. but plz no life threateningor career ending ones.
  9. my opinion for what its worth 1.kevin doolan . will get solid 7-8 points anywhere with the odd double figure score 2. matty weathers. similar to kevin 3. matej kus. with the return of his confidence could up average by 1 -1.5 points 4. claus vissing . should like sheilfield and hope ups average by 0.5 at least. 5 . david bellego. will hpld sversge and sgain possibly 0.5 - 1 increase 6 steen jensen. dont know much about him but if can hold average good if can increase even better 7. liam carr. i am happy he gets a chance and hope he can up his sverage but initially might struggle till gets used to riding at this level every week.
  10. not really heard much of steen jensen to be honest but if the average was under 5 would always be worth a punt. that would leave over 7 points ( if liam in team ) . i would then look for a new asset. nothing against matty wethers but if you get the chance to build up asset base it worth doing with the right rider. not sure where vissing stsnds at minute as he is bspa asset . does thst mean if he goes ok berwick need to purchase from bspa. someone can enlighten me on that plz
  11. yep. dont know where i got the figure 16.08 left my team would be 0.31 over limit. never mind would still have been good team lol
  12. love the fact you know how much any rider want per point. i am actually very good friends with a few riders and i have never asked them or wanted to know what they get paid same as i would be quite offended if they wsnted to know how much i get paid from my employer
  13. i thought was plymouth asset but was just going by comments on plymouth thread that said he hadnt rode enough meetings
  14. another idea we have 16.08 left use liam and tero plus bring in new asset on 7 points vaclav milik doolan bellego vissing kus milik aarnio carr my dream team
  15. what about michal beck jensen 8.4 average i think and also never rode enough meetings to become plymouth asset. he might have signed for someone else but i havent noticed. would be interesting signing snd new asset for whoever
  16. i spoke to matej and he is really looking forward to this season . personally i think he is a bargain on 6.19. he had good meetings in oz and seems back to his self confidence wise. and all i can say is welcome back and have a great season.
  17. doolan bellego wethers ?? ?? aarnio carr by my sums would leave 12.98 for two riders. pepe on 6.95 ( dont think there is as many longtrack meetings 2014) plus a six point rider i would be happy with team along those lines.ok its bot everyones ideal team but solid in depth and tero to help out liam
  18. agree with tourettes re using own assets or getting own assets.personally i would use bellego.alden.carr and take a chance that nikki barret can get his confidence and for back. use carr and barret as reserve pairing. keep matty wethers if possible and make him captain and get two new riders. whether scaninavian eastern european or not. might be worth gamble on the young french guy on 5 points. by my reconning that works out at 32.12 alden7.37 wethers 6.79 bellego 6.36 carr 3.00 barrett 3.60 french guy 5.00 (his name slipped mind) so then got just over nine points for new rider or established heat leader olly allen for example. five assets 2 loans but that all depends on whether alden gets head right bellego wants to come back and barrett gets back to way he rode 2012.
  19. got to say well done to everyone involved from the riders to the track staff. best meeting have been to in years. just goes to show speedway can be entertaining if all the ingredients are right. gladly pay twenty quid every week if it was like this .
  20. i am looking for a copy of the newport glasgow meeting where frank smart george stancil and kevin doolan had crash.
  21. could be wrong shadders but think he sold engines to facundo albin.
  22. really enjoyable meeting . cant see anyone that was there not wanting to come back. there was a buzz about the whole place even in bar after meeting. never heard one negative comment. as to crowd in reality it was probably up on recent weeks especially considering that there was a lack of away support. spoke to a fair number of fans who havent been this year and they all left stadium very happy and looking forward to next meeting.
  23. well the promotion has acted. so lets stop complaining and get behind the team . show them we want speedway at berwick by actually going to meetings and get some atmosphere back into the stadium. hope ricky gets fit soon and good luck to alex. so welcome to berwick paul and edward.
  24. Cant see why anyone not happy with the team for 2013. My opinion is strong heat leader 2 strong reserves and rest of team solid. Would hope for a good response from fans and decent attendances . Plus better weather . Lol
