  1. I have been somewhat sceptical of the pre emptive call offs, however I think they have all turned out to be the correct call, and if it saved Peterborough having to pay rent for the EoES then I can clearly see why they took that decision. Weather forecasting despite the 'mick taking' does seem pretty accurate these days
  2. I seem to recall reading a pre season interview where he said no one had come it for him citing average issues - I may have mis remembered but fairly certain in that
  3. Its a fair point - nobody 'likes' losing every week and long term making up the numbers isn't a good thing, in my speedway lifetime KL have far too often been at the lower end of things and that would frustrate the hell out of me. Peterborough on the other hand have won the title 3 maybe 4 times I can think of so not quite getting their annoyance - the last season was bad but they had just won the title before that so I am less sympathetic to them.
  4. i think perservering sometimes is worth it and in his case i think it definitely is
  5. whoeever is doing the Facebook/twitter is doing a good job!
  6. no mention of that on the radio - those wanting shot of Hans might want to re- appraise been your best rider tonight really!
  7. Listening to this on BBC WM - seems to be a tapes issue - Wolves seem comfortable right now
  8. Not able to get to the meeting today - pleased to see better scores for Rew and well done to Danyon - chipping in with more points, currently sat in a hotel room in Stirling listening to the Wolves v Peterborough on BBC WM - have to say I never thought I would see the day when speedway was broadcast live on the BBC even if it is the radio!
  9. Saw him several times last season - he had a rich run of form from June-August where he was getting double figures every week at Foxhall. Saw him at the end of season at Sheffield he got 1, I think, loudly booed and gestured to by some Tigers fans - he just doesn't go well at Sheffield and his signing for them was probably a mistake! I wont deny his end of season form wasn't good - playoff semi v's Belle Vue he was poor (but then again only Doyle had a decent playoffs for the Witches) - as stated above though some of his riding at Foxhall was exceptionally good to protect team mates and he seemed pretty popular with the fans.
  10. I am recalling the comments of Doyle here when he said Ipswich was a well run club - perhaps fans of clubs that maybe have an issue with Batch need to consider IF their club was well run!
  11. was hoping to get to this one - however family committment has cropped up so wont be able to make it - sort of glad expecting a decent 55+ score from the Tigers
  12. at Ipswich last year he proved himself very much none of those - his form could be erratic and frustrating but he upped his average to about 7 - top bonus points scorer last year as well I think. just checked top BP scorer by a long way for Ipswich and also the entire Prem
  13. They will need to make sure Riss is back he had a blinder there in one of them when he was at reserve scoring about 15 I think, but yes Wolves stronger this year for sure, I still think the Witches will be competive away from home mostly!
  14. Didn't the Witches win twice there last season? Narrow home win as expected - pleasing to read of the good performances from Hume and Rew plenty more to come from both. Nicholls probably got what Musielak would have got about 11-12 - the others / Holder no surprise he seems to really hate / struggle at Foxhall.
  15. Won’t be in town for this still sticking by my original prediction narrow home win! can’t even go to Owlerton tonight either!! My weather check suggests showers 4pmish for Ipswich with sun out by 7pm
  16. Last season it was one win and one defeat at home - won’t make this one - expect a spender home win!
  17. any estimate on the crowd, it seemed fairly decent from the race video posted! I hope so anyway?
  18. Just to inject a bit of positivity isnt Workington back this year?
  19. Good comments, I think both Hume and Rew will be very good riders in time - they show real potential - can't comment on Thompson as I have only seen him ride once in last weeks home defeat so it would unfair to make judgement based on one meeting. Rew did seem to duck out of a couple of first bend challenges last week but perfectly understandable in my view given how new he is in the UK etc. Hume can certainly throw out the odd brilliant ride - he also looks much better on the bike - early on last year he looked shaky and wobbly on the bends at Foxhall buts seems to have ironed that out now. If both can get consistent they will be real assets to the side.
  20. Have you ever been on football forums? This one is very tame by comparison! The blinkers on football ones are well and truly on and any objectivity is left at the door!
  21. Gosh Tobi Kroner - decent lad - that all came cos he had the balls to email the club through the website about a trial!
  22. could be twitter could be facebook etc! Agree nothing much so far on here - concern yes but no outright hostility - he did say internet rather than forum so who knows!
