  1. I agree there was a fair number of spectators there. I doubt the crowd was healthy though!
  2. Wish I had stayed at home and watched Eastenders. That was Dire - yet again. Dunno what it is with Rebs and Foxhall but they are always dire there and I keep going to watch them thinking they'll be better this time. Track seemed pretty rough to me, as it is every time I go. But King said it was brilliant so there. Just seemed a lot of bikes bucking around like broncos. Lost count of the number of falls on the first two bends - was it 10? The only other faller was Tungate somewhere in the fog. He started, was last seen going past me on turn 2 but was never seen again and the race was stopped. That heat should never gave started. Not much entertainment for the casual punter. Yet people moaned about the Showground track on Monday. I prefer that every day of the week compared to Ippo.
  3. Could have done with it flooding last Monday then!!
  4. Not much of a safety fence!! https://www.flickr.com/photos/the_womble/16888476398/in/album-72157649509012613/
  5. Not sure why Greenwood hasn't clicked yet this season. Last season he was in great form before he bust his collar bone. His maximum was testament to that. Also saw him score very well at Rye House for Panthers last season. Bit unfair to consider ditching him already.
  6. I think the point is that the track has been poor all season until tonight. It's not back to its best yet but tonight was a big improvement.
  7. Tractor was out grading every 2 heats. Seemed to me there were more lines available than any other meeting at the showground this year - all down to a bit extra dirt. Definitely better to watch than what I see at Ippo, though I haven't been to Ippo this year yet.
  8. There hasn't been much grip at the Showground this year!!
  9. I see Garrity guests for Panthers instead of Robert Lambert. I'm glad I'm not able to go!! And r/r for Olly is a bummer.
  10. Serious question - how much of the spectating area is under cover? (Not a trick question and no ulterior motive - just interested to know.)
  11. Given that all the dirt was that far out at the time I think he was always going to struggle to turn the bike and was going to need a Rickardsson Cardiff Wall of Death ride to get around the bouncy bags.
  12. Greater good is fine but only up to a point. And the $64,000 question is - where is that point? Rider safety? Crowd inconvenience? PR? Money? PS I don't know the answer!!
  13. Cookie's comment actually was "....... the paying public must be delighted with the entertainment".
  14. Lot of anti-Monarchs propaganda going on. Folk must be getting worried about the strength of our guys this season. 6 points down with the Cookie/Smiling Sam pair due out in 2 of the last 4. We would have been happy with that against apparently the strongest team in the league. And with the home leg to come.
  15. So Eric might be able to get round the Dale? That would be good.
  16. Len's programme notes from last week commented that the new recruits would bring a professionalism that had been lacking recently. I assumed this might have referred to Garrity & Bunyan.
  17. Absolutely not. Ask Rye fans about his attitude.
