  1. .............. that's what they say when we're together.
  2. Certainly some big changes going to be required next year if only because the Ippo team is now about 4 points over this season's starting limit!! And that's with King, Covatti and Risager all standing still. Surprised that Sarj has upped his average by nearly a point - seemed like he had stood still this season but I suppose he started on a low figure. The Barker for Kerr and Jacobs for Paco changes certainly added more points - more than 3 in fact. But if the limit for next season is reduced then everyone is going to need to find improvers rather than too many stand stillers. Did he really? Macca will be gutted!!
  3. Cheers Mr. Taps. Always felt that speedway should be a summer sport!! So let's forget these early March and late October fixtures and get rid of the gaps in the summer months instead!! I aim to be back in the spring so I look forward to the new back straight sound system, a roof on the back straight scaffolding, some lights pointed towards the speedway track and a continuation of the recent atmosphere. Not too much to ask!! I'll settle for 3 out of 4. Certainly far better atmosphere than at the Poshground or the concrete Dry House.
  4. Sorry for the fabulously enthusiastic Ippo fans that you didn't get the performance or result that you wanted last night. Surprised the track was dry and dusty after all the rain the past few days. Drainage must be incredible!! Always a danger that one of your old riders might come back to bite you on the bum and that seems to have been the case with Tungate yesterday. Surprised that the ex-Monarch Charles Wright did so well - he's always struggled at Foxholes when I've seen him there before. Sorry I couldn't get along to cheer on the other ex-Monarch Rob (hence why he didn't do so well!!) but hopefully the Back Straight Foxholers did their usual good job keeping the atmosphere going. Also sorry I couldn't dispense the commiserative Wagon Wheels - the arthritis in my hand has really flared up and I can't drive the car at the moment. The Use By dates are the end of March 2017 so I suppose I might have to work my way through them since that's a bit too close to the start of next season. Bummer!! So congrats to the Rebs - if anyone can whop the Tiggers it's you. (That's either the Weegie ones or the PL Select ones!!
  5. Sorry guys - now unable to make it tonight so the Wagon Wheels are off. Hope everyone gets the result they want!! Come on Rob!!
  6. Was it Odyssey or Iliad? I know Homer had a hand in both of them. (Edinburgh classical education reference! )
  7. You'll have to get past Sheffo first. (Come on Master Bates!!)
  8. It's all well and good getting there - it's the getting back in the middle of the night that'll be the problem. And the diversion signs that start you off but then peter out!!
  9. Going on a walking tour round a bit of derelict London soon - http://www.derelictlondon.com/silvertown.html Our son has a flat there (not derelict!!). So many good walks like this around London.
  10. Bl**dy hell - if you zoom in it looks like London in the blitz!!
  11. That might be ok if Ippo were to win, but .......................!!! Could be a long winter there!!
  12. For heaven's sake. Are they really trying to discourage folk from going to Foxholes??
  13. Probably would have the same rider turnout from weegieville on either date.
  14. I was meaning too chilly for the others riders obviously!! Certainly the scaffolding at Foxholes in autumn/winter never gets nearly as cold as the Baltics of Armadiddle on a mid-summer's evening!! (Good chart by the way - pretty much right.)
