  1. Well done to ippo. But also well done monarchs - a valiant effort and one of our best home results. Only 1 blob all night. Such a shame about the weather yet again.
  2. Err macca - you've got your blue and white glasses on inside out I fear. Should go to Specsavers asap. Dan the Wee Man was averaging over 9 incl BPs from his last 7 matches!! 60+8 from 33 rides. And 4 of them were away matches - Peterborough / Somerset / Sheffield / Newcastle. Dan y On could only dream of these numbers!! Oh and of course Dan the Wee Man would have been on his home patch. Dan y On doing well but is still a 3 pointer atm especially away from the foxholes.
  3. Eh??? Surely no TR helps our cause? But yes the loss of The Wee Man has been a killer blow.
  4. Can't argue with any of that. But unfortunately it's the way of British speedway.
  5. Come on Blobby - follow the party line!! OK just for you - 6 x 5-1s and 1 x 4-2 and 8 3-3s. Must be manageable!! Just no room for mistakes.
  6. Indeed but that conversion rate is a joke if it applies to EL reserves the same as say an EL heat leader like Troy Batchelor. Not that he leads many heats mind you!!
  7. I'm sure there will be a way around the 2 year rule. Richard Hall was going to have to ride on a 59 year old average was he not?!! But Mr. Ellis is on a 5.60 EL average as of Monday (if Poole had any more meetings to race!!!) so presumably not affected by the 6 point one
  8. So not one from the 2016 cast list of thousands!!
  9. Interesting from which direction macca? The bit I liked is................... Sarjeant keeps the crowd happy by going through the tapes! Sir Jim does his job and chucks him out. Shame Sir Jum isn't reffing tonight!! And forgetting the 13 x 4-2s, the alternative is only 7 x 5-1s plus 8 x 3-3s to not even need the Golden Heats. Perfectly achievable!!
  10. Interesting titbit from the Monarchs website ............... Apparently Connor Coles is one of a kind in that he is the only rider in British Speedway whose dad was married on the centre green at Powderhall Stadium previous home of the Monarchs. Hope he shows sufficient respect to his old man's club and admires the Monarchs riding away in front of him!!
  11. Nice try Rob. The only drawback is............. Monarchs v Berwick = 44-46 Monarchs v Worky = 49-41 Monarchs v Weegies = 46-43 Monarchs v Devils = 54-36 Monarchs v Newcy = 46-44 Monarchs v Ippo = 52-39 Monarchs v Berwick = 50-40 Monarchs v Scunny = 49-40 Monarchs Select (3 guests + r/r) v Sheffo = 56-36 Monarchs v Dry House = 45-44 Monarchs v Weegies = 48-41 Monarchs v Redcar = 62-28 - hallelujah brothers!! Monarchs v Devils = 39-30 Monarchs v Rebs = 50-43 Monarchs v Panties Select (4 guests + r/r) = 59-33 So our average result is approx 50-39. And v Redcar is the only win by more than 26 points. So no big home advantage this season. But this is the time for the legends to stand up and send the tractor boys chugging back down the A1 with their exhausts scraping on the ground!!
  12. Cyclone is obviously right. We are highly unlikely to claw it back - but just imagine if we did! Cookie and Sedgy would be back up banging the drum! Losing the Wee Man has been a killer blow but it's an opportunity for a new couple of legends to step up. But the tractor boys will be going all out to impress the scouts from the Showground to try to win a place in the queue for the revolving door. Agree about Zummerzet - really unfortunate timing - and Tungate has maybe dropped his form a little.
  13. Of course we shouldn't have a chance........................... But what if....................................? The lads are already Legends so this would take their legendary status to a new Almighty Legends level. Even better than Wolves beating Poole!!
  14. Getting more confident each time I read my post!! And I see Mr. Hawkins is getting his excuses in for not being there on Friday!!
  15. 'Fraid not. I'm seen as a bad luck charm at Armadiddle. We hadn't lost at home for donkey's years till I turned up in June last year and we proceeded to lose at home by 6 points to the Weegies. Fortunately we turned them over big time (by a dozen points) at their emporium 2 days later!! Nice 15 point max Mr. Cookie!! Ben Hopwood - conqueror of Somerset's BWD is The Man in for The Wee Man. No problemo!!
  16. As I said before - I don't like him, I just don't dislike him quite as much as I used to. 2.5 out of 10 now instead of 0.5 out of 10. But the big question is.............. .......... can Ben Hopwood deal with Connor Coles the same way as he did with Bradley Wilson-Dean last week? We know Kaiser Kevin is back on it after his illness as witnessed by him beating Cookie twice last week. (Has anyone done that before?!!) We know Smiling Sam is an international superstar. We know Flyin Ryan wants to finish his career with another title. We know Erik Riss is a current and two-time World Champion. We know that Mark Riss is really upping his game now - and is the brother of a current and two-time World Champion. We know that Max Cleggy is the current NLRC and Under 19 Champion. So the pedigree is there - just need a wee bit of luck and some decent refereeing.
