Peterborough v Sheffield Mon 4th Sep
P T Preece replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What a cracking meeting, great presentation, well prepared track and fantastic racing, really enjoyed the night. The crowd was good as well, such a pity this track is about to close. It dosent happen very often now, that you get a perfect night but the whole thing from travelling down, to the journey back was perfection, even the bollard buggers couldent shut the roads off quick enough to give any hassle on the way home. Thank you Peterborough for all the great memories over the years, including 2010 when the Brummies became 4s champion. -
Oxford v Birmingham Wed 14th June CL

The worse meeting I have seen this year and it has nothing to do with the score.Heat one the riders all over the place because clearly the track wasnt fit to race on, 40 minutes of grading the track later we have heat two, quite a bit of improvement, but for the riders it was all over after the first bend. This is how the night progressed, first out of the gate and you were away, some of the races were closely fought but overtaking at a bare minimum or not at all. Then after a 40 minute delay to the meeting after heat 1 we have an interval to watch some more tractor driving. They decide to bring out the track curator and praise him for sorting out the track. No mention of the track he had already prepared that was unfit after one heat and he should have been given a telling off from the referee.Very disappointed with racing, the meeting in general and the state of the track from heat 1. Its only about 75 minutes from my home and was going to get to some of the NDL meeting, not going to bother now. -

Birmingham v Glasgow 6.7.22

That was bad worst performance this season most brummies knew it would be a loss. There you are a brummies comment. -
Great racing , some nice action, pity about the presentation 29 races took over 3 hours. Slow, ponderous track grading the racing was the only thing that kept me there. How can you water the track then have to wait for it to dry out before you can continue. Talking to the people around me this is way it's run every week. An insult to travelling supporters, won't be going again.

Very sad news, one of the best always a joy to talk too. RIP.

A well run meeting in spite of the constant drizzle, well prepared track. They rushed it along and kept the action going, some good racing as well, really enjoyed the afternoon. Buxton should be proud of this one, well done to the track staff, it must have been cold out there, it was nice and warm in the car. Both teams rode well. Its good to now and again come away with a good feeling, some of the other places Ive been this season could learn a lot from the home of the Hitmen. Well done guys.

Not much of a meeting, late start, rubbish ref and not a lot of action and considering a lot of the people last saw a 3tt back in the 80s, a lot of people were having trouble filling in the programme. Some sort of information sheet would have helped and why put the reserve races in the meeting if they didnt count towards the meeting. Don't want another one of theses next season.

Mildenhall v Brummies NL Sat 9th Aug

It looked like Tom was trying to get off his bike, so I think the throttle was stuck, the bike hit the fence at a rapid rate and left him landing on his back. -

how anybody can go and watch speedway on track week in an week out amazes me, boring isn't the word, slow running, hardly any Bees supporters, counted 17 in the stand we were in. the track was patchy and unsafe, I was going to the NLRC but you can forget sooner watch EastEnders. -
oh well, maybe in September now.
