This might be a wild shot in the dark, but does anybody know how Jason Lyons is. Ive often wondered how his leg is since the accident that finished his career, at the farewell meeting we were told he couldent ride a bike and had to be very careful as it was taking some time for it to mend. Anybody over there in Aus or going any chance of finding out as the bloke is a legend around the Brummies and Belle Vue, it would be nice too know he is all better now.

Birmingham Brummies 2015

Sunday meeting might help with some of the more distance teams coming to PB, Kent, Kings Lynn just to mention a couple and it might help bring in supporters from other local tracks with nothing to do on a sunday. Is this just Brummie meeting or does it involve the Heatherns as well. -

Things I would like to see 1 get rid of the double point rule 2 tape touch automatic 15 metre handicap, no replacement rider from the tapes. 3 false start straight round to the start again, if you go off the track you dont come back on again. 4 bring back the rakers 5 card system maintained throughout the season to riders who try to jump the start or lay down on the track, get to a certain number of points and you are suspended for a week or longer and twice in one meeting and you are out of the meeting. Not allowed to replace the rider for the rest of his rides. 6 better prepared tracks all over the country.

Intercontinental final, vojens denmark 1981, first trip abroad. Started the usual time of 7.30 and then had some rain about half way through and stopped the meeting for a while and re-started it again after some track work and we left the meeting just after mid-night. We always joke it was our first two day meeting. Does anybody remember the grand slam meeting at Peterborough in the 80s I think, started in the morning and went on forever, I love my speedway but I was sick of sitting there by the end and couldent wait for it to end. Happy days.

Ive already been ripped off by one promoter this season.

so there not really getting punished then, just fined, which they wont have to pay judging by the woman that came around during the meeting yesterday at Monmore collecting to help them pay the fine. -
Well we held them to 55, not your usual 60. 4 number ones in the same team no wonder you keep beating everybody, enjoyable meeting with a lot of red and yellow about, shame about the gate jumping its becoming a habit with some of the riders. Throught the track rode well.

whats the weather like at the moment at monmore green.

Enjoyable afternoon at Peterborough, nice sunshine and well prepared track, some of the racing was quite good and an amazing heat 15, Former Brummie Ostergaard comng from the back and fighting all the way with another former Brummie Sedgie. It will be a great shame if we lose this great stadium and track, hopefully somebody esle will come in and help out. I never thought I would ever say this but Margaret Vardy was the ref today and she did a good job of keeping the meeting running along steadily, the first 10 heats done in an hour, no messing about, the riders just came out and got on with it, no silly grading because the track had been well prepared before the meeting started. This kept the action coming even though we had the dreaded rirder replacement as well. Well done Referee Vardy.

There was a young family just in front us and they looked like first timers as well, after heat 6 they got up and went and we didnt see them again, Im hoping they moved to another part of the stadium but Im assuming they went home, It wasnt entertaining, exciting or of any real interest, seasoned supporters know it was just a blip and the next time you come you just might get a better meeting, but each meeting should be more professional, sadly last night it wasnt. Hoping the EL play off final if you get there is much better and the big event later in the month the NL 4s is treated to a better presentaion than last night. My Brother said to me last night just after heat 9, "why are they killing our sport" and sorry to say its probably true. -

Im with Gemini on this, Ive stopped buying Programmes, Been going to speedway since 1973 and have a loft with 1000s of programmes in, I never look at them all they do is gather dust. Most of the programmes are full of adverts or news you already know about off the internet, it cant be upto date news in the prog and the amount of times you get to the stadium and look at the Prog and realise that there are going to be changes, it just seems all very pointless. I would like to see promoters trying both for a season and see how they do, printed team sheet and a programme for the same event and see who bothers with each one, it would be a team sheet every time for me. Got to go now and fill my Programme in. -
