  1. Must be some sort of way of marketing the World Champion to the people staying at the various holiday camps and campsites in the area. Admittedly the owners of the holiday camps want people to stay in house as much as possible. But how many children get to see a current World Champion in any sport up close.
  2. Not often I agree with Steve, but that's a forward thinking idea. Also a possibility of sponsorship too. If Poole/Bournemouth is anything like Oxford there seems to be loads of independent coffee roasters looking to upsize their business by getting their beans into more independent cafe' and shops. If you signed him you could market Timo (Tea-mo) and Lahti (no explanation needed)
  3. Mine arrived today it generally arrives Thursday occasionally on the Friday if there's a bank holiday.
  4. Aahh But this is the BSF it always goes a bit off topic. Sometimes good sometimes bad(petty bickering) but I for one enjoy reading about people' thoughts on the good old days etc
  5. That Smell Lynyrd Skynyrd I don' know anyone who doesn' love the smell of Speedway
  6. For years the shock was Glasgow winning at home Now they have a team to be proud of, though they were probably proud of every team they had even in the dark old years.
  7. You want to get them in the bath on a sunday night. Scrub that grime out ready for school on monday
  8. I did see that sports journalist Oliver Holt had retweeted the Oxford Mail story about the possibility of getting Speedway and Greyhounds back in Oxford. He said let' get the speedway back.
  9. GTech beat me to it. Though I didn' know Cliff owned a cottage there but I knew he lived in the village.
  10. Bloody Hell how many yards was a lap of that track ? Pekka Hautamaki was a rider I enjoyed watching
  11. Had a chat with him and Ole Olsen in Horspath on the monday after the 81 World Final
  12. Lets hope we can see the return of The Cheetahs
  13. But they all fought their way through God knows how many qualifying rounds to get to the Final.
  14. Speculate to accumulate May as well get the Top Boy then
  15. But you'll be dragged along screaming.TBH in my time supporting the Mighty Cheetahs(Rebels/Silver Machine) and Oxford United I can say most seasons haven't been the best. But the Black humour of the diehards and the belief that this season is the one. makes it a fun afternoon/evening out.
  16. Nope, fair play to Prof Starman being a stickler for spelling and grammar. I like forum members who post with good PUNtuation
  17. Bet it would beInvolved as part of one of those algebraic equations seen in fuzzy black and white at 2 in the morning back in the early 80s on the open university being presented by a bloke who looked like he stalked the Vicars wife
  18. May depend on what Scott Nicholls earns as a pundit for the GPs.
  19. Just caught the end of a piece on former rider Tony Dart on Meridian News. Had his lower right leg amputated in 2008 and has now taken up sidecar racing. Only posting from my phone but hopefully someone may be able to find and post the link
  20. I don't get the prejudging of Nick Morris. Improves every season Can do it from the gate and more importantly the entertaining way too. Though dropping the World Champion does seem pretty bizarre, think how much money you could make through the gates with clever marketing and promotion to offset his wages
