  1. It would be disappointing if that's the case, for both reasons, the injury severity and R/R. I guess ultimately the only available replacements will be from abroad, and Stewart has shown a marked aversion to bringing in continental riders since he's been with the Lions.
  2. To be fair I've been to some other motorsports that aren't too far removed, but no sport body is quite as wilfully blind to it as the BSPA. Now if you don't mind I'm off to the track shop to get a new, laminated, no expense spent team picture. The out of date one with the riders who've been sacked or buggered off to Poland. 😁
  3. Every time the camera pans the crowd I cringe. People with more pin badges than real teeth, 80s/90s dance music at the tapes, dreadful working mens club banter on the centre green and people who go on about bring back upright engines, monkey masks, open helmets, rediffusion, polio, smog...
  4. You couldn't possibly alienate all those people who have been going for "forty years you know, in the same spot with my thermos and blanket..." by doing something radical. No, seriously, you couldn't possibly alienate them or the whole thing would collapse, there's nobody else going...
  5. You do get that impression sometimes. Every time I've seen him this year he looks to have peaked already.
  6. Ultimately missing a proper no.1. They'd hardly set the world alight even so but you need that rider to win heat 1, and Musielak isn't it.
  7. That's a bit generous. I think this system would work: No passes recorded lap 1 as they are sorting themselves out. None on lap 2 as they are just getting settled into the rhythm of the race after sorting themselves out. Lap 3 we can count passes, hurrah! Lap 4 doesn't count, as by then some riders give up on the last two bends so it can't be a genuine pass. Forthwith all programs to have a column to mark when authorised passes occur, so the 100 or so fans packing out the NSS can have something else to do when Kurtz is half the circuit ahead of the rest, again 😁
  8. Could probably argue Kurtz wasn't quite ruthless enough, but Zmarzlik just has so much speed it would be hard to keep him behind anyway.
  9. The points you score are what you should take away with you. It's utterly bizarre scoring.
  10. Yes, but in terms of wins gate 3 always seems to be the worst at pretty much every GP you see.
  11. Totally different Dan Bewley tonight. The lack of consistency is why he wont be world champion.
  12. Would have been better to have some 2x4 timber asking questions, would be less wooden for a start.
  13. If it takes a few races to get the dirt in the right place for entertainment, why don't they send some juniors out to break it all up a bit before heat 1?
  14. One wonders whether they'd have been quite so friendly whilst racing for the world title though, that's the difference.
  15. I think it can work if you have riders like Pickering who are willing to attack it. It certainly didn't help the racing that Sheffield were just so poor, especially from the gate and were just team ridden out for 4 laps in many heats.
  16. His head and shoulderhits the ground first with all the momentum behind it. I've watched a few times and the more I watch the worse it looks.
  17. Wishing him all the best. Going to be a hard rider to replace.
  18. Doesn't say much for his belief in his ability to be world champion if he's not even confident of keeping his place without it.
  19. Why is Brennan in for Holder? I've been trying to convince some football loving people at work to come along and watch. I now hope they don't want to come because I'm damned if I can give them a plausible explanation that wont make them lose interest immediately.
