  1. That's a bit harsh....... on Arthur Daley!
  2. I'm guessing they are awaiting it to be 'rubber stamped' be the BSPA?
  3. Actually, I wasn't having a 'pop' at Matt Ford (or anyone else), I was actually having a 'pop' at the rulebook.
  4. Apart from this year when every EL team will have NL reserves, so they (the NL) must be doing something right?
  5. Someone has to, as the current promotion have not had promoting experience, so a known Promoter has to go in to oversee things (similar to when Neil and David helped out at Leicester when they first started up again).
  6. Until the rule book is made crystal clear, with no grey areas, Matt Ford (and anyone else), will exploit those rules to the enth degree.
  7. It is, indeed, he! Date of Birth is 27/09/79
  8. I'm pretty sure Ned will be riding in (at least) Denmark in 2014, so technically hasn't left the sport to 'make a comback.'
  9. Which is why I think every track should have two ambulances in attendance.
  10. No!!! There are too many in the PL and EL as it is!
  11. Not sure about the 'awful track' quote (BuckTaylor64). Yes few fans went there, which is why it eventually had to close, despite the terrific efforts of the Meakins'. I have to say, I always enjoyed my trips to Carmarthen, supporting the Newcaslte Gems and the Individual Meeting they held after the GP at Cardiff. The Promotion even found the time to come across and say "Thank you for coming." A few promotions could take a leaf out of that book, in my opinion.
  12. Watching Facu Albin round Glasgow could be 'fun', though!!
  13. Also at Belle Vue (don't think that would stop him riding PL though).
  14. Not sure about that. Belle Vue already have Craig Cook and Richie Worrall doubling up, MPT would make 3 and I'm almost certain they are only allowed 2, but may be wrong as the rules may have been changed. I am sure someone will confirm.
  15. He guested for us (Newcastle) at reserve and scored 15+1 against Redcar in August 2012 in a 54-39 win.
  16. Just a quick random selection, but it just goes to prove, whatever they do, they will be doing it 'wrong' in some peoples eyes. They might go down the Scunthorpe route, £1 for two sheets of A4 stapled together, with the racecard in the middle, a couple of adverts, a write-up by Rob G and the Fixtures/Results on the back? They may do what the likes of Newcastle do, a proper 'Magazine' for £2.50, in full colour, packed full of write-ups (George English, Rantin' Roy etc.), Stats page, a 'Spot the Difference' etc., etc. But, as I say, whatever route they go down, it'll be wrong. All they are trying to do is 'freshen it up a bit.' New broom and all that. Good luck them, I hope it's a roaring success.
  17. Sorry! I was replying to your post which was in reply to yoda who said "I do believe it's up to the cluibs...." to which you agreed! But I'm in agreement with you, it's should be up to the riders not club.
  18. Are they not Self-employed sportsmen though? If so, it should be down to the rider first and foremost should it not? It should then be up to the clubs to check everything is in place?
  19. The night before (the away leg at Loomer Road), will forever live in the memory. The Diamonds scored more at Stoke than they did in the Second leg (!) and the planned 2 Stoke coaches to Brough were cancelled (one may have ran, not 100% sure). Also the many Newcastle fans that had travelled down literally drank the bar dry!!
  20. Barry Wallace used to do Newcastle Utd and Newcastle Speedway.
