  1. Hardly Pepe's fault he missed meetings. Blame the rearranged fixtures, rather than the individual.
  2. The other way would have been not to make the draw until it was decided if Peterborough were going to run in the PL, or not. A few weeks delay wouldn't have made much difference. Once a draw has been made, you can't really go back on it.
  3. It'll be more that 20 meeting though (16 league meetings, 1 KOC and 3 League Cup is 20, but you'll have the usual 5 or 6 challenges against Edinburgh as well ) but I agree £340 is a bit steep. Newcastle are charging £330 and also £30 to park in the Car Park for the season!
  4. Lakeside (I think!). Although Glasgow said way back in early 2013 they were going to try to sign him as their own and I can't remember if they did do that!
  5. Hoping for a speedy and full recovery Steve.
  6. Don't really want to highlight it... but there you go. I really enjoyed my trips to the island following Newcastle in the IOW PL days and hope something can be sorted for the club to continue.
  7. I'm presuming you do mean like Lewis Kerr, rather than actually Lewis Kerr? Lewi is back at Newcastle for 2014.
  8. Doolan 7.51. Bellego 6.36. Kus 6.19. Wethers 6.79. Vissing 6.89. Aarnio 5.86. Carr 3.00. = 42.60
  9. So, what data do you want? The riders I have spoken to want Air/Polyfoam fences at every track. Sorry, but that is good enough for me.
  10. I did say 5 or more (as a generalisation)! Totally agree in what you say. It's OK some saying "you have to speculate to accumalate" but, if you haven't got the finances in the first place, you can't do that. I'd love to buy a Rolls Royce, but haven't got the finances to do so!
  11. Can't comment on other tracks, but Newcastle are doing various things, all to raise funds for the fence and fans get something in return. Ebay items up for auction, raffles and 'fun' nights, to name just three.
  12. Sorry, but I can't see the difference between Buxton, who charged £10 for adults to get in, who chose to do something different, granted, and any other club trying to raise funds for a piece of equipment needed to keep running (and saving possible serious injuries too). It's still the fans paying for it (something you appear to be against).
  13. He wouldn't say that if he was a real speedway fan, either.
  14. I'll never forgive him for openly admitting (in the bar at Exeter) that he could have been trying "a little harder," when chatting to 2 fans and the speedway reporter for the local (Newcastle) paper (also a fan).
  15. Surely that was more Berwick's fault for signing him?
  16. The thing is though, in my opinion, something should have been, at least started, to be done about it 5 or more years ago, when it was apparent tthe sport was on the slippery slope downwards.
  17. A lot of tracks (in the PL at any rate) do the 'Kids for a Quid' scheme (especially through the School Hols) and some do have free admission for kids (particularly under 5's). Whether this is enough, is open to debate.
  18. Next signing announced at 10pm tonight, according to Ian Rae on Twitter
  19. Just for the record.... Lemo had this to say on Facebook... "Nothing ever seems to amaze me anymore! Signed & sealed contract with Plymouth Devils for 2014 British Premier League Speedway. Now they want to reshuffled the lineup & I'm the one that gets outed."
  20. Clinton Leitch. Was Scott Smith not with them at the same time? I seem to remember 3 Aussies in second half races at Brough. Rusty was the obvious pick of them, even then.
