  1. When they got to the 'nitty gritty' extra financial implications were then put upon them, which they were not aware of when initially wanting to move up. Their Website says: "HAVING BEEN GRANTED PERMISSION TO PUT ITS CREDENTIALS TO THE SPORTS GENERAL COUNCIL AT THE AGM HELD IN COVENTRY THIS WEEK, THE REQUIREMENT OF NEW AND PREVIOUSLY UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS OF ENTRY; WHICH WOULD HAVE MEANT INCREASED FINANCIAL ASSURANCES AND BONDS HAVING TO BE PAID IMMEDIATELY, MEANT THAT THE PROMOTION HAD NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO WITHDRAW THE APPLICATION ON THE GROUNDS OF THE MEDIUM AND LONG TERM FINANCIAL SECURITY OF THE CLUB."
  2. Because Plymouth have said that the extra financial implications meant they couldn't move up, I don't think that will happen.
  3. So teams in the North wouldn't meet teams in the South (in the league) and have home and away three times (15 home and 15 away matches)? Then fans would complain that they'd only seen five different teams in the league!! I reckon they've (just about) got it right the way they've done it.
  4. Often spannered for Ully last season and even if he wasn't was still supporting him in the pits.
  5. Steve Hayward, sometiems Berwick Centre Green guy, who also helped out Bob (GRT Media) occasionally.
  6. That's like saying "if the iceberg wasn't where it was, the Titanic wouldn't have sunk."
  7. Don't think he's hanging the mic up, just not doing the "Ranting Roy" column in the RaceDay Mag.
  8. Dave Allen (sp) (There was another who lasted about four weeks, but I can't remember his name!)
  9. Barry told me that he sent a big preview for Saturday's Chronicle and they butchered it and left about 20% of what he actually sent. The preview I did for the Sunday Sun, was published and left intact, though I didn't look to see if Saturday's Journal included my preview.
  10. Kent have applied to race in the SGB Championship in 2020 on a Wednesday night.
  11. I can confirm Barker guests for Bears. Diamonds also bring in a guest. Lasse Bjerre is ill and James Sarjeant comes in. R/R for Thomas Jorgensen.
  12. Yes, the fair is in the Car Park. Priority for parking will be given to BLUE BADGE HOLDERS, to get them as near to the Turnstiles as possible. Supporters are then advised to use the overflow car park (the one on the left as you drive in). Once that is full, then once again please use the Home Bargains car park just up from the stadium (right hand side as you drive down the Fossway, left hand side as you drive up towards Byker). Hope this helps.
  13. It's a fairground. The Circus has already been (no jokes please!!).
  14. Use the Metro. St James station to either Chillingham Rd (walk through to the stadium) or Byker and walk up Shields Rd and down the Fossway.
  15. "Major announcement" from 5pm.... http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/news.php?extend.2804‬&fbclid=IwAR3hhGEvs-6kPTGLLQZ6QCBsV-ud-6TDks-lqpdfIuqlwoBP2PJP6uCz7yE
  16. Season tickets (previously NOT part of this match) holders can now use their season Ticket for this match, now the 90th Anniversary Meeting has been scrapped. George E says it might be ran at the start of next season:
  17. Joan (I'm guessing that's who it was!) is always right! There is a back-up plan, if next Sunday was to be a washout too, with Monday 28th as a precaution.
