Just been confirmed by Rob (via PM on Facebook) that it DOES NOT include the bars. Just the catering
-
Stand alone matches are 6.30pm - Double Headers 5pm. The only exception to that is the 90th Anniversary Meeting which starts at 5pm.
-
William Hill don't own the stadium now, but I get your point!!
-
Full Gems fixtures here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=101080 When the Diamonds are at home too, meetings will start at 5pm (Diamonds on first).
-
The 90th Anniversary Meeting (29th March with a 5pm start) is £10 for adults & £5 for concessions and you get to see Bjarne Pedersen again. That should encourage people to come.
-
The die-hards will always be there, in that respect you are correct, but there are a few who either refuse to pay the admission fee because they don't see it as value for money and don't come anymore, or, they simply can't afford it. Not much use towards the end of the season. And anyway why give people free entry when you've already cut the admission. They have a business to run after all, as you say reducing the admission isn't going to increase numbers through the gates. It probably won't. Of course they will come if they get free entry, that's a given. Rob is already going to put 'extras' on for home meetings, to try and give extra value for money, for which he should be applauded Let's hope it brings in a few more punters, especially families, as youngsters are the future of the sport (as Roy Clarke would say!!) and its potential survival.
-
As I've said a few times before, John Anderson tried it at Berwick and it didn't make any difference to the numbers through the gate.
-
There will be. Rob has already stated there will be 6 or 7 home matches, which means 3 or 4 Challenge matches, which includes a Challenge against a Stoke Select side.
-
Not a good experience for the user IMO. All things Newcastle, be it Diamonds, Gems or Sapphires, should all be on the same website with different Tabs or contained in a Drop-down. Add to that the potential extra cost of two or three websites, to the site hosts, is silly.
-
Depends how many Challenge matches there's going to be.
-
Perhaps the above may (or may not) give you an answer.
-
Rob G has said on Facebook one of the Challenges will be against a Stoke Select side

Without checking the rules, I think Max said such at the Talk-in before Christmas.

Newcastle Diamonds Official now launched on YouTube. Please subscribe!!

Newcastle would be in the Northern Junior League ( and probably still will be), not the Midland Development League. I believe Archie is moving up to 500cc full time from now on and Danny could be following suit.
-
I don't think that is the way they are thinking at all. They are giving competitive racing to the likes of Josh Embleton, Archie Freeman, and Danny Smith, rather than just giving them the Northern Junior League to be involved in.
-
He's signed for the IOW as well.
