  2. You may have hit the de nail on the head......
  3. Yes https://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.36043
  4. When we (GRT Media - the late Bob Tasker) first started regularly filming at Sheffield, Neil Machin was saying that this is the way to go. This was in around 2009 I think, so it's nothing new. Although, IIRC, Neil was wanting it on (then Sky) TV, rather than a download type broadcast.
  5. At least then, British riders will get their chance, which many reckon they should be getting in the first place.
  6. Reserve your table now by calling Owlerton Stadium on 0114 2343074. (Taken from the Sheffield Speedway Website)
  7. It was brought in in 2014, if that helps (I know it doesn't!)!!
  8. I think I have to respond to both points. Number 1. You say it can be dangerous "at times." I'm guessing you've only been to the track when Workington have visited? Correct me if I'm wrong please. You're not there every week of the season, when the track can be near or absolutely perfect. Can you put in facts and figures that Brough Park is more dangerous than most other tracks when riders have been injured purely down to track conditions? I can guess that riders get injured there no more than other tracks up and down the country. Number 2. Tsunami may be able to confirm, but I believe that this element of "supporter" is no longer there.
  9. Don't sign them then. I'm quite sure other riders would have signed without the extra cost to the promotion.
  10. 90th Anniversary meeting now included in the Season Ticket price: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100950
  11. Danny already has a team spot in both the NL and SGB Championship.
  12. Jacki has just put on Facebook that they still intend to put the kickboards on on Sunday from 10am.
  13. Birmingham will be riding on a Wednesday too.
  14. Ty Proctor's final GSA last year was 6.96, but he's still signed for Sheffield for the coming season. How is that?
  15. Is that why Redcar are racing against Somerset in Round 1?
  16. April 19th: https://www.younglionsspeedway.co.uk/2019-dates/
  17. One less home (& Away) league fixture, obviously. Berwick have already announced that their Bordernaplois meeting will now be included for those Season Ticket holders. Looks to me that they moved us (Newcastle) into the "Scottish" Group, to replace the Comets, so it won't affect Glasgow, Edinburgh and Berwick for the Shield, but will now affect Sheffield, Redcar and Scunthorpe, I would guess!! Don't know about the KOC as the draw for that wasn't announced (either that or I didn't see it!!).
  18. The Shield Groups are regionalised (or as regionalised as possible), so were always going to be in the same group.
  19. I think they laid down cuttings of turf at each corner of the rugby pitch, over the speedway track at Odsal (Bradford) when the Rugby and Speedway were both there.
  20. Perhaps he's got more sense than money. Once bitten, twice shy and all that.
  21. Info from a fading memory and Newcastle History website concerning Andre: http://www.newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk/1990s.htm My point is just correcting you in we finished fourth. No malicious motive.
  22. Andre broke his ankle in the P&P. We finished fourth in the league.
